RCMP seizes drugs, firearm, forged documents in search warrant execution

The Nova Scotia RCMP Southwest Nova Street Crime Enforcement Unit (SWN SCEU) seized quantities of several drugs, a firearm, replica firearms, and forged government documents in a search warrant execution.

On October 14, as part of an ongoing drug trafficking investigation, SWN SCEU conducted a targeted traffic stop on Kissing Bridge Rd., Lunenburg County. Officers arrested the driver and only occupant of the vehicle.

After the arrest, officers executed a search warrant at a residence on Back Centre Rd. During the search, investigators located and seized quantities of several drugs, cash, and items that support drug trafficking charges. They also safely seized a firearm that was not stored safely, replica firearms, and forged vehicle inspection stickers.

The 36-year-old Lunenburg County man who was arrested was later released by police on conditions pending a future court appearance. He will face charges related to firearms, property crime offences, and the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act.

The search warrant execution was supported by Lunenburg District RCMP general duty and general investigation section officers, Bridgewater Police Service, and the Criminal Intelligence Service Nova Scotia.

Anyone with information about illicit drug trafficking or other criminal activity in their community is encouraged to contact their nearest RCMP detachment or local police.
