RCMP arrests woman for impaired driving in Enfield
RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment has arrested a woman for impaired driving in Enfield.
On October 1, at approximately 7:20 p.m., RCMP officers responded to a report of a suspected impaired driver of a silver SUV that had just left a business in the 6700 block of Hwy. 2 heading toward Wellington.
Officers learned the driver had ordered food but was unable to pay. She then got into a heavily damaged SUV and drove through the parking lot, failing to stop for two stop signs as she left.
Patrols to locate the SUV were unsuccessful.
At approximately 9 p.m., officers learned the suspected driver had returned to the business in a Nissan Xterra and was parked outside.
With assistance from East Hants District RCMP, officers located the Nissan with a woman seated in the driver’s seat. An officer spoke with the woman and observed signs of alcohol impairment. A roadside breath sample was obtained, which resulted in a fail.
The woman, a 43-year-old from Middle Porters Lake, was arrested for impaired driving. She was transported to the Enfield RCMP Detachment, where she provided breath samples of 130 mg% and 120 mg%.
The woman was later released and is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court at a later date.
