RCMP charges River Bourgeois man for child luring and child sexual abuse and exploitation material offences
The Nova Scotia RCMP’s Provincial Internet Child Exploitation Unit has charged a River Bourgeois man for child luring and child sexual abuse and exploitation material (CSAEM) offences.
In June, investigators received information from an electronic service provider indicating that a Nova Scotia man had communicated online with multiple youths for a sexual purpose.
On September 23, members of the Provincial Internet Child Exploitation Unit and RCMP Digital Forensic Services, with assistance from Richmond County District RCMP, including its Street Crime Enforcement Unit, executed a search warrant and seized electronic evidence at a residence on Church Point Rd.
As a result of the investigation, Robert Steven Digout, 31, has been charged with:
Luring a Child (two counts)
Making Written Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation Material
Accessing Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation Material (two counts)
Digout has been released on conditions and is scheduled to appear in Port Hawkesbury Provincial Court on December 10.

Anyone who encounters such material must report it to their local police or to Canada's national tipline: www.cybertip.ca. Failure to report may result in penalties under the Child Pornography Reporting Act.
