RCMP charges man after assault in Conquerall Bank
Lunenburg District RCMP has charged a man with assault and other offences following an incident in Conquerall Bank.
On October 2, at approximately 3:10 a.m., RCMP officers responded to an assault at a home in the 700 block of Hwy. 331. Investigators learned a woman, who was later transported to hospital by EHS with non-life-threatening injuries, had been assaulted by a man known to her. She later left the property and called for help.
When officers arrived at the home, the man had barricaded himself inside the residence. Additional resources, including the RCMP Emergency Response Team and RCMP Police Dog Services, attended to assist.
At approximately 8 a.m., the man exited the home and was safely arrested. He’s charged with five offences, including Assault, Assault Causing Bodily Harm, and Failure to Comply with Undertaking.
The man appeared in Bridgewater Provincial Court on October 2. He remains in custody and is scheduled to reappear on October 5.
To protect the victim’s identity, the Nova Scotia RCMP isn’t releasing the name of the man charged, and no further information can be released.
