RCMP arrest man for impaired driving after golf cart rollover in Timberlea

RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment has arrested a man for impaired driving following a golf cart rollover in Timberlea.

On October 10, at approximately 1:30 p.m., RCMP, EHS and fire services responded to a single-vehicle crash at a golf course on Brunello Blvd. Officers learned that a golf cart carrying two occupants had rolled over.

Officers spoke with the driver and passenger upon arrival. The passenger suffered non-life-threatening injuries and received first aid at the scene.

The driver showed signs of impairment, and a roadside breath sample resulted in a fail.

The 33-year-old man from Halifax was arrested for impaired driving and transported to Tantallon RCMP Detachment, where he provided two breath samples registering 130 mg% each.

The man was released and is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court at a later date.

Everyone has a role to play in preventing impaired driving.  No matter what vehicle a person chooses to operate, impaired is impaired.  If you suspect someone is about to drive while impaired, take their keys, help them arrange a safe ride or contact police.
