Police lay assault charges

On October 2 at approximately 11:30 p.m., police responded to a report of a stabbing on Dacosta Row in Halifax. Upon arrival, officers located a 17-year-old youth suffering from a stab wound. The victim was transported to the hospital with what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

On October 4, officers located and arrested the suspect without incident. The victim and suspect are known to each other.

Alisa Corcoran, 21, is scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court today to face charges of aggravated assault and breach of probation order (x2).

Police lay robbery charges

On October 4 at approximately 7 p.m., police responded to a robbery at Canadian Tire, located at 30 Lamont Terrace in Dartmouth. It was reported that three men were inside the store taking merchandise. One suspect threatened staff with a knife while the other two fled in a vehicle. Upon arrival, officers arrested the suspect with the knife. The knife was seized without incident.

There were no reported physical injuries.

A 40-year-old man, is scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court at a later date to face charges of:

  • Robbery

  • Assault with a weapon (x2)

  • Possess weapon for dangerous purpose

  • Breach of release order

The investigation is ongoing.
