**** Nova Scotia Fallen Peace Officers’ Memorial Service Organizing Committee Release
Nova Scotians gather for 44th annual Nova Scotia Fallen Peace Officers’ Memorial Service
This Sunday marks the 44th annual Nova Scotia Fallen Peace Officers’ Memorial Service. The service honours peace officers based in Nova Scotia who died in the line of duty. It is a humbling reminder of the selflessness and dedication of those who lost their lives while serving others.
Peace officers, first responders, civilian employees, military personnel and volunteers will march from Halifax Regional Police Headquarters, on Gottingen Street, to Grand Parade prior to the service. Participants from across the province will then assemble at the Nova Scotia Fallen Peace Officers’ Monument for a ceremony. Dignitaries will bring remarks and then wreaths will be laid by peace officers, dignitaries and family members in memory of those who have given the ultimate sacrifice.
