Kings District RCMP arrests man for impaired driving after collision

Kings District RCMP arrested a man for driving-related offences after a collision on Aldershot Rd.

On October 29 at approximately 5:15 p.m., RCMP and other first responders attended a report of a collision on Aldershot Rd. near the intersection with Lanzy Rd. Officers learned that a Yamaha motorcycle travelling north on Aldershot Rd. had struck a Jeep that was stopped at the intersection.

The motorcycle passenger reported injuries and was transported to hospital by EHS. The driver and only occupant of the Jeep did not report injuries.

Officers observed signs of impairment by alcohol from the driver of the motorcycle, a 29-year-old Little Harbour man. He was arrested and refused to comply with the demand for a breath sample as part of the impaired driving investigation. The man will face driving-related Criminal Code charges and was released by police. He is scheduled to appear in Kentville Provincial Court at a later date.

Road safety is a shared responsibility. Before consuming alcohol or drugs, plan ahead for a safe ride. Reporting suspected impaired drivers to 911 can help prevent serious injuries and save lives.
