Kings District RCMP arrested man after firearm incident in Scots Bay

Kings District RCMP has arrested a Scots Bay man following a firearms incident.

On September 21, at approximately 7 p.m., Kings District RCMP responded to a report that a man had threatened another man and pointed a firearm at him at a home in Scots Bay.

On September 24, as part of the ongoing investigation, officers executed a search warrant at a residence in the 5000 block of Hwy. 358 in Scots Bay. A 48-year-old man was safety arrested and officers seized a rifle.

The man is facing charges of:

• Pointing a Firearm

• Assault

• Uttering Threats Against a Person (two counts)

• Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm

• Possession of Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose

• Careless Use of a Firearm

He is scheduled to appear in court Kentville Provincial Court at a later date.

The investigation is ongoing.
