Is it drafty in here?
This red squirrel's feeling a tad exposed at the moment! He was brought home by someone's cat, and the called us for help. He was already naked when the cat found him, but he was covered in ticks and fleas. So we are treating him for possible bacterial infections from the cat's mouth and giving him anti-parasitic medicine. We are hoping it was all those parasites that was causing the issue with his fur loss - it's already starting to grow back!
A cat's mouth has a ton of bacteria in it, and even the smallest scratch can cause very serious infections, and it can be hard to see wounds through feathers or fur, so if you have an animal that's been in a pet's mouth, we always want to bring it in for treatment - just in case!
www.hoperaffle.ca - Jackpot's at $38,695! There' now only 9 days left to buy tickets, and as always were' hoping to make it over $100K. What a Christmas present for the animals that would be!
