Cold weekend ahead - Please keep your fur babies safe in the cold! It will be a cold weekend in the province, and it won't be pleasant at all. Windchill and icy conditions make life just as hard on our cats and dogs as it does on us, so please consider shorter walks for the puppers (well, most breeds!) and keeping kitties out of the cold (if you let them roam) to keep them safe and healthy! - **** Via NS SPCA Cold weather reminder  Extremely low temperatures are impacting our province over the next few days. This is a reminder that our furry friends get cold, too, and should not be left outside. Quick Safety Guide: ✔️Shorten walks when temps drop below -10°C ✔️Avoid outdoor time below -20°C for all pets except for potty breaks ✔️Watch for shivering, vocalizing, or lifted paws ✔️Dry pets off if they get wet, moisture steals heat quickly ✔️ Don’t leave pets in cold vehicle ✔️ Know the signs of frostbite and hypothermia, such as shivering, blisters, pain and swelling, lethargy. It’s always better to let them snuggle up inside!
