Canada Youth Road Safety Week update!
This week, Nova Scotia RCMP conducted school-zone checkpoints at local high schools, including Bayview High (Upper Tantallon) and Millwood High (Middle Sackville) to support safer roads for youth.
At Bayview High, about 55 student-driven vehicles were checked near the student lot. Students were respectful and cooperative! A shout out to school staff for the support!
Here’s a recap:
• Seven verbal warnings for cell phone use 📱
• Two verbal warnings for improper seatbelt use (shoulder strap over the shoulder!)
• One expired MVI (Motor Vehicle Inspection) 🧾
• Seatbelts were on, but a few students needed reminders on proper wear and fit.
• No texting spotted, but a few phones were on laps.

Belt on. Phone away. Eyes up. Slow down in school zones.
