An update on Gus the gopher tortoise - October 13th, 2026
The procedure to remove his bladder stone was a success, and he is resting comfortably with his care team.
Gus will remain with his veterinary care team for close observation for 48 hours, before returning to the museum later this week.
Gus will be recovering behind the scenes for the next 8-10 weeks, but we will continue to share updates on his recovery.
Thank you to his vet team for their excellent care of our beloved Gus and to everyone for your support and well wishes.
