Roadway Closure – Rocky Lake Drive
Location: Rocky Lake Drive, between Duke Street and Cobequid Road
Date and time: 8 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 24 to 6 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 25
Work details: This is to facilitate CN railway crossing maintenance work near 1233 Rocky Lake Drive to maintain safe conditions for rail and road users.
Traffic impact: Rocky Lake Drive will be closed at the railway crossing during this work. A marked detour will be in place. Local access will be maintained from both ends of the closure; however, vehicles will not be able to cross through at 1233 Rocky Lake Drive. Drivers should expect delays and use alternative routes where possible.

Traffic Delay – Jubilee Road
Location: Jubilee Road, between Henry and Edward streets
Date: Wednesday, Nov. 19 and Thursday, Nov. 20
Time: 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. each day
Work details: This is to facilitate a natural gas pipeline installation in the area.
Traffic impact: There will be lane drops and stop-and-go traffic in place while work is underway. Motorists are asked to expect delays and use alternative routes where possible.

Traffic Delay – Woodlawn Road
Location: Woodlawn Road, between Valleyfield Road and Athorpe Drive
Date: Thursday, Nov. 20 and Friday, Nov. 21
Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Work details: This is to facilitate road repair work in support of the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.
Traffic impact: There will be an altered centreline in place while this work is underway. Drivers should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.

Traffic Delay – Intersection of Maple and Dahlia streets
Location: Intersection of Maple and Dahlia streets
Date: Wednesday, Nov. 19
Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Work details: This work is for road repairs and supports the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.
Traffic impact: Lane drops and stop-and-go traffic will be in place while work is underway. Motorists should expect delays and are advised to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Location: Intersection of Bedford Highway and Hammonds Plains Road
Date: Saturday, Nov. 15
Time: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Work details: This is to facilitate road repair work in support of the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.
Traffic impact: There will be lane reductions in place while this work is underway. Drivers should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.

Roadway Closure – Lady Hammond Road
Location: Lady Hammond Road, between Mackintosh and Commission streets
Date and time: From 6 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 21 to 5 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 24
Work details: This is to facilitate preparations for the upcoming Windsor Street Exchange project.
Traffic impact: Marked detours will be in place while this work is underway. Local access to Mackintosh Street via Lady Hammond Road will be maintained during this work. Drivers should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.
Pedestrian impacts: A marked pedestrian detour will be in place around this work.
Transit impacts: Halifax Transit routes 29 and 93 will follow marked detours and the bus stop on Lady Hammond Road after Mackintosh Street (7093) will be closed during these traffic impacts. See all active Halifax Transit service disruptions here.

Traffic impact: Stop-and-go traffic control will be in place while work is underway. Drivers should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes wherever possible.

Traffic Delay – St. Margarets Bay Road
Location: St. Margarets Bay Road, between Chandler and Bowater Mersey roads
Date: Saturday, Nov. 15, and Monday Nov. 17 to Friday, Nov. 21
Time: From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (weekdays), and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Saturday)
Work details: This is to facilitate the final portion of repaving work in the area, scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 15 (weather permitting), followed by line painting and other less disruptive work the following week. This road repair work supports the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.
Traffic impact: There will be stop-and-go traffic in this area while work is underway. Drivers should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.
Traffic delay – Herring Cove Road
Location: Herring Cove Road, between Forrest Avenue and Melwood Avenue
Date: Saturday, Nov. 15, 2025
Time: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Traffic Delay – Intersection of Barrington and Duke streets
Location: Intersection of Barrington and Duke streets
Date: Monday, Nov. 17 to Thursday, Nov. 20 and Monday, Nov. 24 to Thursday, Nov. 27
Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Details: Two signal poles will be replaced and updated at this intersection. This work is in support of the Cogswell District project.
Traffic impact: A lane drop will be in place while this work progresses. Drivers should expect delays and use alternative routes.

Traffic Delay – Dutch Village Road Complete Streets project area
Location: Dutch Village Road, between Joseph Howe Drive and Alma Crescent
Dates: Friday, Sept. 19 to Friday, Dec. 21, 2025
Time: 24/7
Work details: This work is part of the Dutch Village Road Complete Streets project.
Traffic impacts: Access to nearby businesses and properties is being maintained throughout this project.
At 6 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 19, crews expect the current phase of work along the west side of Dutch Village Road to be completed.
After 6 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 19, crews will shift the lane closure to the east side of Dutch Village Road to facilitate the next phase of work. The changes outlined below will also come into effect.
Dutch Village Road will open to southbound traffic from Supreme Court toward the southern intersection of Joseph Howe Drive and Bayers Road. Dutch Village Road will be closed to northbound traffic in the project area.
Access to and from these streets along the west side of Dutch Village Road will open:
Sunnybrae Avenue
Central Avenue
Rosedale Avenue
Frederick Avenue
Rufus Avenue
Access to and from these streets along the east side of Dutch Village Road will close:
Deal Street (local access maintained via the northern intersection with Dutch Village Road)
Andrew Street (local access maintained via Percy Street)
Detour signage will be in place, and personnel will be on-site to direct traffic. Drivers should expect delays and use alternative routes.

Pedestrian impacts: Pedestrian access will be maintained.
Transit impacts: The existing Halifax Transit impacts will continue to be in place during the second phase of this work.
Inbound routes 28 and 137 will be detoured via Alex Street, Main Avenue and Titus Street to Dutch Village Road. The following bus stops will be temporarily closed during this work:

Dutch Village Road before Andrew Street (6609)
Dutch Village Road before Sunnybrae Avenue (6638)

Outbound routes 28 and 137 will be detoured via Alma Crescent, Main Avenue and Alex Street to Rosedale Avenue. The following bus stops will be temporarily closed during this work:

Traffic Delay – Intersection of Bedford Highway and Hammonds Plains Road
Location: Intersection of Bedford Highway and Hammonds Plains Road
Date: Sunday, Oct. 5 to Friday, Dec. 5
Time: 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Work details: This work includes upgrading traffic signals, in support of the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.
Traffic impact: An altered centerline and stop-and-go traffic will be in place, maintaining two lanes of traffic while work is underway. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.

Traffic Delay – Dutch Village Road
Location: Dutch Village Road, between Bayers Road and Supreme Court
Date: Tuesday, April 22 to mid-December 2025
Time: 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays, with weekend work as required
Work details: This work is to improve the safety and comfort of pedestrians, cyclists, transit users and drivers.
Sidewalk and bikeway upgrades: New sidewalks and bike lanes will be installed on both sides of Dutch Village Road within the project area.
Transit infrastructure upgrades: New concrete pads will be added to improve accessibility at bus stops.
Streetscaping enhancements: Trees, benches, garbage receptacles, and interpretive signage will be added to enhance the pedestrian experience.
Parking and traffic calming: Existing parking spaces will be replaced with on-street parallel parking and lane widths will be reduced to help calm traffic and improve safety.
Traffic impacts: Access to businesses and properties will be maintained throughout the project; however, residents and commuters should expect the following traffic impacts:
Lane reductions and stop-and-go traffic within the project area
Temporary closures on side-streets to install new underground infrastructure
The sidewalk along Dutch Village Road will remain open for pedestrian use
Transit Impacts: This work will impact Halifax Transit routes 28 and 137. Throughout phases of this project, different bus stops along Dutch Village Road will be impacted and routes may be temporarily detoured.
