UPDATE: Second person dies in single-vehicle collision
A second person has died after a single-vehicle collision in Dartmouth last week.
On September 25, at approximately 11:20 p.m., officers responded to a single-vehicle collision involving a car that struck a tree on School Street in Dartmouth. Three people were extracted from the vehicle. A 19-year-old woman, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was pronounced deceased on scene by Emergency Health Services. The driver and passenger, both 19-year-old men, were transported to hospital with serious injuries. The male passenger has since succumbed to his injuries.
Thoughts are with the loved ones of the deceased and all those affected by this incident.
The investigation into the cause of the collision is ongoing. At this time, no charges have been laid and no tickets have been issued.

RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment is investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash in Lower Sackville.
On October 1, at approximately 7:36 p.m., RCMP, EHS and fire services responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash on Freer Lane. Officers learned a Mitsubishi RVR was travelling towards the Cobequid Community Health Centre when the vehicle went off the road and into the ditch.
The driver and lone occupant, a 57-year-old man from Upper Sackville, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
An RCMP collision reconstructionist attended the location of the crash and Freer Lane was closed for several hours. It has since reopened.
The investigation is ongoing.
