**** Via NS Gov LONG LAKE WILDFIRES COMPLEX, ANNAPOLIS COUNTY, AUGUST 28 The Long Lake wildfires complex is still out of control. The current size estimate is 8234 hectares. Crews had a very productive day yesterday working on flanks, aiming to limit the growth and spread toward communities as drier conditions return. Air resources include 11 helicopters, six planes plus bird dogs. Ground resources include 12 Department of Natural Resources (DNR), 89 Ontario, and 70 local firefighters, with over 70 heavy equipment operators. Next update this afternoon.
