**** Via NS Gov LONG LAKE WILDFIRES COMPLEX, ANNAPOLIS COUNTY, AUGUST 27 The Long Lake wildfires complex is now estimated at 8278 hectares and is still out of control. Assessment of Sunday’s damage is ongoing. Beyond that, no new reports of damage to homes. Crews continue to focus on the east side of Paradise Lake and are also working around the entire perimeter. Air resources include: six helicopters, six planes plus bird dogs. Ground resources include: 36 Department of Natural Resources (DNR), 62 Ontario and 59 local firefighters, plus heavy equipment operators. The next update will be late afternoon.
