**** Via NS Gov LONG LAKE WILDFIRES COMPLEX, ANNAPOLIS COUNTY, AUGUST 26 The Long Lake wildfires complex is still out of control, still estimated at 8,026 hectares. Assessment of Sunday’s damage is ongoing. We will not share structure loss numbers until all affected residents have been informed. Beyond that, there is no new reports of damage to homes. Crews are focusing on the east side of Paradise Lake, aiming to prevent spread to Trout Lake. Air resources: six helicopters, six planes plus bird dogs. Ground resources: 56 Department of Natural Resources (DNR), 62 Ontario and 47 local firefighters, plus heavy equipment operators. Next update will be this afternoon.
