**** Via NS Gov LONG LAKE FIRE COMPLEX, ANNAPOLIS COUNTY, AUGUST 24 The Long Lake wildfires complex is still out of control. Growth beyond the current estimated 3255 hectares is likely today due to extreme fire conditions. All efforts are being made to save homes. Incident command post has moved to Bridgetown. Keeping people safe is our top priority. The wind is pushing the fire toward the West Dalhousie area, air and ground resources are focusing efforts there. Aircrafts today include six helicopters, six planes plus bird dogs. On scene today include 56 Department of Natural Resources (DNR), 62 Ontario and 54 local firefighters. Heavy machinery is still working on flanks. Next update will be this afternoon.
