SUSIES LAKE – MORNING UPDATE

SUSIES LAKE – MORNING UPDATE
***** Via Halifax Professional Firefighters SUSIES LAKE – MORNING UPDATE Yesterday’s wildfire response in Susies Lake was significantly hampered when water bombing resources were forced to stop due to illegal drone activity. This is dangerous, illegal, and puts both fire fighters and the public at risk. Over 40 of our members — supported by our logistics and training divisions — responded to the incident, representing a significant portion of our daily minimum staffing. On top of the Susies Lake fire, our members also responded to multiple other outside fires and our regular call volume across the city. Even in extreme conditions, the work never stops. With conditions still posing an extreme risk for wildfire activity, vigilance remains critical. The wildfire remains out of control, estimated at 25-30 hectares. Our members presence will increase again today as fire behaviour dictates. No matter the day. No matter the call. Halifax Professional Fire Fighters are always on duty.
