Today, sparks from breaking rock on a construction site at 276 Bedford Highway ignited a quickly developing fire
The heavy equipment operator noted the soil was as dry as flour, a reminder of the extreme wildfire risk we’re facing.
Fortunately, crews from Stations 7 & 5 were already nearby from a previous call and arrived within minutes, preventing the fire from spreading further.
Please remain vigilant — at the earliest sign of smoke or fire, call 911 immediately.
