**** Via HRFE We're expecting hot, dry conditions over the coming days, meaning higher wildfire risks. Here are some tips 1. Always check daily burn restrictions before burning – visit BeforeYouBurn.halfiax.ca. 2. Clear dry leaves, grass and debris from around your home. 3. Keep BBQs, fire pits and store fuel away from buildings and dry vegetation. 4. Water your lawn and garden, including mulch, regularly to keep vegetation from drying out. 5. Store firewood and flammable materials at least 10 metres from your home. 6. Trim trees and shrubs to create a 1–2 metre fire break around structures. 7. Have a hose or fire extinguisher easily accessible. Learn about our Fire Smart program at: https://www.halifax.ca/safety-security/fire-emergency/fire-prevention-safety/programs-events/firesmart
