Traffic Delay – Oxford Street

Work details: This work is to support natural gas restoration works.
Traffic impact: Two-way traffic will be maintained during traffic disruption. Drivers should expect delays and use alternative routes.

Traffic Delay – Intersection of Lacewood and Regency Park drives
Location: Intersection of Lacewood and Regency Park drives
Date: Wednesday, July 23
Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Work details: This is to facilitate road repairs in support of the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.
Traffic impact: The work zone is from Fairfax Drive to Keshen Goodman Public Library. There will be a lane drop on Lacewood Drive while work is underway. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.

Traffic Delay – Bedford Highway
Location: Bedford Highway from Flamingo Drive to Kearney Lake Road
Date: Tuesday, July 22 to and including Friday, July 25
Time: 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Work details: This is to facilitate road repairs in support of the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.
Traffic impact: An altered centerline will be in place while work is underway. Drivers should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.

Road Closure – Bayview Road
Location: Bayview Road, between Laurentide Drive and Trillium Terrace
Date: Tuesday, July 22
Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Street Closure – Bayview Road
Location: Bayview Road, between Laurentide Drive and Trillium Terrace
Date: Wednesday, July 23 to and including Friday, August 1
Time: 9 a.m. on Wednesday, July 23 until 4 p.m. on Friday, August 1 (excluding weekend of July 26 & 27)
Work details: This work includes road repair in support of the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.
Traffic impact: Local traffic will be maintained and a marked detour will be in place while work is underway. Emergency and pedestrian access will be maintained. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.

Traffic Delay – Lacewood Drive
Location: Lacewood Drive between Bayview Road and Braemount Drive
Date: Monday, July 21 to Friday, August 1
Time: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Work details: This lane closure is to facilitate the water and sewer connections to the new Seton Ridge subdivision.
Traffic impact: A single lane will be closed periodically in non-peak directions only. Traffic control will be in place. Drivers should expect delays and use alternative routes.

Dates: Monday, July 21 to Friday, July 25
Time: Monday, July 21 from 7 a.m. to Friday, July 25 at 7 p.m.
Work details: This work is needed to facilitate the safe water and sewer connections to the new Seton Ridge subdivision.

Road Closure – Caledonia Road
Location: Caledonia Road, at civic 95 Caledonia Road
Date: Thursday, July 24 to Saturday, July 26
Monday, July 28 to Tuesday, July 29
Time: 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Work details: This closure is needed to facilitate utility work the development at 95 Caledonia Road.
Traffic impact: Signed detours will be in place for drivers. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.

Traffic Delay – Oxford Street
Location: Oxford Street, between Quinpool Road and Pepperell Street
Date: Wednesday, July 23
Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 to 10 p.m.
Work details: This work is needed for sidewalk and street restoration.
Traffic impact: Two-way traffic will be maintained from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The southbound direction on Oxford Street, between Quinpool Road and Pepperell Street, will be closed between 6 to 10 p.m. with detours in place for vehicles.
Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes wherever possible

Traffic Delay – Dutch Village Road
Location: Dutch Village Road, between Bayers Road and Supreme Court
Date: Tuesday, April 22 to mid-December 2025
Time: 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays, with weekend work as required
Work details: This work is to improve the safety and comfort of pedestrians, cyclists, transit users and drivers.
Sidewalk and bikeway upgrades: New sidewalks and bike lanes will be installed on both sides of Dutch Village Road within the project area.
Transit infrastructure upgrades: New concrete pads will be added to improve accessibility at bus stops.
Streetscaping enhancements: Trees, benches, garbage receptacles, and interpretive signage will be added to enhance the pedestrian experience.
Parking and traffic calming: Existing parking spaces will be replaced with on-street parallel parking and lane widths will be reduced to help calm traffic and improve safety.
Traffic impacts: Access to businesses and properties will be maintained throughout the project; however, residents and commuters should expect the following traffic impacts:
Lane reductions and stop-and-go traffic within the project area
Temporary closures on side-streets to install new underground infrastructure
The sidewalk along Dutch Village Road will remain open for pedestrian use
Transit Impacts: This work will impact Halifax Transit routes 28 and 137. Throughout phases of this project, different bus stops along Dutch Village Road will be impacted and routes may be temporarily detoured.

Traffic Delay – Dutch Village Road area
Location: Dutch Village Road, between Joseph Howe Drive and Alma Crescent
Dates: Tuesday, July 1 to Friday, Aug. 22
Time: 24/7
Work details: This work is to facilitate street recapitalization as part the Dutch Village Road Complete Streets project.
Traffic impacts: The following traffic impacts will be in place to help crews complete the work more efficiently and reduce the overall construction timeline.
Dutch Village Road will be closed to southbound traffic between Supreme Court and Bayers Road. Traffic will still be able to turn onto Dutch Village Road from Joseph Howe Drive and travel northbound.
To support intersection improvements, the intersections on the west side of Dutch Village Road will be closed between Supreme Court and Bayers Road. The closures already in effect on Westerwald Street, Sunnybrae and Central avenues will continue, and new closures will be in effect on Rosedale, Frederick and Rufus avenues. Local access to these streets will be provided via Alex Street.
Detour signage will be in place and personnel will be on-site to direct traffic. Drivers should expect delays and use alternative routes.
Pedestrian impacts: Pedestrian access will be maintained.
Transit impacts: Inbound routes 28 and 137 will be detoured via Alex Street, Main Avenue and Titus Street to Dutch Village Road. The following bus stops will be temporarily closed during this work:
Rosedale Avenue at civic 34 (8242)
Rosedale Avenue before Dutch Village Road (8243)
Dutch Village Road before Andrew Street (6609)
Dutch Village Road before Sunnybrae Avenue (6638)
Joseph Howe Drive before Scot Street (6986) (only for route 28)
Outbound routes 28 and 137 will be detoured via Alma Crescent, Main Avenue and Alex Street to Rosedale Avenue. The following bus stops will be temporarily closed during this work:

Location: Leaman Drive, between Monique Avenue and Crystal Drive
Date: Monday, July 21 to Wednesday, July 23
Time: 24/7
Work details: This work is required for underground utility connections for nearby development.
Traffic impact: A marked detour will be in place to guide motorists through the work area. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.
Pedestrian Impact: The sidewalk along Leaman Drive will be closed. Pedestrians are asked to use existing sidewalks on Monique Avenue, Farthington Place and Crystal Drive to move around the work area.

Traffic Delay – Glen Manor Drive
Location: Glen Manor Drive, from Crichton Avenue to Mic Mac Boulevard
Date: Friday, July 18
Time: 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Work details: This work includes quality assurance in support of the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.
Traffic impact: Lane Drop will be in place while work is underway. Drivers should expect delays and are asked to take alternative routes whenever possible.

Traffic Delay – North Street
Location: North Street, between Oxford Street and Chebucto Road
Date: Monday, July 21 until Tuesday, July 29

Work details: This work is to support a natural gas service lateral installation and right-of-way restoration.
Traffic impact: A one-way street closure will be in place while work is underway. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.

Location: Rocky Lake Drive, between Civic #440 to Bedford Highway

Traffic Delay – Bell Road
Location: Bell Road (westbound lane only), between Robie and Summer streets
Date: Tuesday, July 22
Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Work details: This work involves asphalt repairs related to the QEII expansion project.
Traffic impact: The westbound lane will be closed, and the southbound lane will remain open. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible. A marked detour will be provided through Summer Street, Veterans Memorial Lane and Robie Street.
Pedestrian Impact: The sidewalk along the north side of Bell Road will remain open.
Transit impact: The transit stop Summer Street after Veterans Memorial Lane (2304) will be closed. Passengers to a temporary stop on Veterans Memorial Lane.
