Traffic Delay – Barrington Street
Location: Near 1569 Barrington Street
Date: Thursday, July 10
Time: 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. (overnight work)
Work details: This is to facilitate road repairs in support of the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.
Traffic impact: Stop-and-go traffic will be in place while work is underway. Drivers should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.

Traffic Delay – Victoria Road
Location: Victoria Road, from Albro Lake Road to Highfield Park Drive
Date: Friday, July 11
Time: 12 to 2 p.m.
Work details: This work is for road repairs. This project supports the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.
Traffic impact: Lane drops will be in place while work is underway. Motorists should expect delays and are advised to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Traffic Delay – Bedford Highway
Location: Bedford Highway, Flamingo Drive to Kearney Lake Road
Date: Thursday, July 10 and Friday, July 11
Time: 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily
Work details: This is to facilitate road repairs in support of the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.
Traffic impact: Lane drops will be in place on the outbound lanes while work is underway. Drivers should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.

Location: Intersection of Almon and Agricola streets
Date: Wednesday, July 9
Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Traffic Delay – Portland Hills Terminal
Location: Portland Hills Terminal entrance at Portland Street
Date: Thursday, July 10
Time: 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. (overnight)
Work details: This work is needed for asphalt and transit signal equipment repairs.
Transit Impact: The driveway and bus loop will be closed to buses. The terminal building and sidewalk will remain open during this time, but buses will be unable to service their regular bus bays. Passengers are directed to the following temporary bays located on Portland Street:
Temporary Bay 1 (North side of Portland Street, before Portland Hills Drive)
The following routes will wait at the temporary stop until their scheduled departure time at Portland Hills Terminal:
- Route 5 (to Scotia Square)
- Route 58 (to Bridge Terminal)
- Route 72 (to Dartmouth Crossing
These routes will be dropping off passengers only:
- Route 59 (to Portland Hills Terminal)
- Route 61 (to Portland Hills Terminal
- Route 63 (to Portland Hills Terminal)
- Route 65 (to Portland Hills Terminal)
- Route 68 (to Portland Hills Terminal)
Temporary Bay 2 (South side of Portland Street, after Portland Hills Drive)
These routes will wait at the temporary stop until their scheduled departure time at Portland Hills Terminal:
- Route 59 (to Colby)
- Route 61 (to North Preston)
- Route 63 (to Penhorn Terminal)
- Route 65 (to Caldwell)
- Route 68 (to Cherry Brook)
These routes will be dropping off passengers only:
- Route 5 (to Portland Hills Terminal)
- Route 58 (to Portland Hills Terminal)
- Route 72 (to Portland Hills Terminal)

Location: Lacewood Drive, between Fairfax Drive and Keshen Goodman Public Library
Date: Friday, July 11
Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Work details: This is to facilitate road repair work in support of the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.
Traffic impact: Two lanes in each direction will be maintained on Lacewood Drive near this work. The right-turn lane across from Fairfax Drive to Keshen Goodman Public Library will be closed during this work. Drivers should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.

Road Closure – Upper Water Street
Location: Upper Water Street from Cogswell Street to Barrington Street
Date: Thursday, July 10 to Friday, July 11
Time: 7 p.m. on Thursday to 5 a.m. on Friday
Work details: This work is to facilitate paving in support of the Cogswell District project. A noise by-law exemption has been granted for this night work so as to minimize disruptions to the area during the day.
Traffic impact: Detours will be in place and personnel will be on-site to direct traffic. Drivers should expect delays and use alternative routes.

Road Closure – Upper Water Street
Location: Upper Water Street from Cogswell Street to Hollis Street at Duke Street
Date: Wednesday, July 9 to Thursday, July 10
Time: 7 p.m. on Wednesday to 5 a.m. on Thursday
Work details: This work is to facilitate paving in support of the Cogswell District project. A noise by-law exemption has been granted for this night work so as to minimize disruptions to the area during the day.

Traffic Delay – Rocky Lake Drive
Location: Rocky Lake Drive, between Duke Street and civic 426 Rocky Lake Drive
Date: Tuesday, July 8
Time: 9 to 10:30 a.m.
Work details: This is to facilitate road repairs in support of the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.

Traffic Delay – Dutch Village Road
Location: Dutch Village Road, between Bayers Road and Supreme Court
Date: Tuesday, April 22 to mid-December 2025
Time: 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays, with weekend work as required
Work details: This work is to improve the safety and comfort of pedestrians, cyclists, transit users and drivers.
Sidewalk and bikeway upgrades: New sidewalks and bike lanes will be installed on both sides of Dutch Village Road within the project area.
Transit infrastructure upgrades: New concrete pads will be added to improve accessibility at bus stops.
Streetscaping enhancements: Trees, benches, garbage receptacles, and interpretive signage will be added to enhance the pedestrian experience.
Parking and traffic calming: Existing parking spaces will be replaced with on-street parallel parking and lane widths will be reduced to help calm traffic and improve safety.
Traffic impacts: Access to businesses and properties will be maintained throughout the project; however, residents and commuters should expect the following traffic impacts:
Lane reductions and stop-and-go traffic within the project area
Temporary closures on side-streets to install new underground infrastructure
The sidewalk along Dutch Village Road will remain open for pedestrian use
Transit Impacts: This work will impact Halifax Transit routes 28 and 137. Throughout phases of this project, different bus stops along Dutch Village Road will be impacted and routes may be temporarily detoured.
