Annapolis District RCMP investigates fatal collision in Deep Brook

Annapolis District RCMP is investigating a fatal collision that occurred in Deep Brook.

On July 1, at approximately 1:35 p.m., Annapolis District RCMP, fire services, and EHS responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision on Hwy. 101 near Purdy Rd.

RCMP officers learned that a westbound Dodge Journey and an eastbound Honda motorcycle collided head on.

The motorcycle driver and passenger, a 64-year-old man and a 63-year-old woman from Bear River East, were pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the SUV, a 51-year-old man from Meteghan River, was transported to hospital by EHS LifeFlight with what were believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

An RCMP collision reconstructionist attended the scene; the investigation is ongoing.

Cumberland Country District RCMP investigates fatal collision in Salt Springs

Cumberland County District RCMP is investigating a fatal collision that occurred in Salt Springs.

On July 3, at approximately 6:15 p.m., Cumberland County District RCMP, fire services, and EHS responded to a report of a motorcycle crash on Hwy. 104. RCMP officers learned that a westbound motorcycle left the roadway and came to rest in the median.

The motorcyclist, a 61-year-old man from Amherst, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

An RCMP collision reconstructionist attended the location of the crash; the investigation is ongoing.

Hwy. 104 was closed for several hours but has since reopened.
