HRM bike lane points released in regard to bike lane construction and costs in HRM

The municipality presented updated AAA program budget forecasts at TSC in May. These are the same as in the 2025-26 approved multi-year budget plan. They are higher than last communicated to Council in 2022. They have been regularly updated in multi-year capital plans.
Staff continue to update the AAA budgets as the detailed designs for each project progress.
The main explanation for the increases is inflation. The costs increases for the AAA bike network are consistent with increases in other municipal capital projects.
Deputy Mayor Mancini issued a notice of motion about these costs at the last Council meeting.
