Street Closure – Almon Street
Location: Almon Street, from Agricola to Robie streets
Date: Friday, March 28
Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Work details: This work is in support of the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.
Traffic impact: One-way closure for southbound traffic between Agricola to Robie streets. Detour signs will be in place for incoming traffic with pedestrian access maintained. Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained. Drivers should expect delays and use alternative routes.

Traffic delay – Bell Road
Location: Bell Road, between Summer and Robie streets Date: Friday, March 28 to Sunday, March 30 Time: Friday, March 28 at 6:30 p.m. to Sunday, March 30 at 6:30 p.m. Work details: This work is to support the Halifax Infirmary Expansion Project. Traffic impact: Traffic using the east bound lane on Bell Road will be directed to use the west bound lane between Robie and Summer streets. Traffic travelling on the west bound lane will be detoured via Summer Street. Signed detours will be in place for vehicles and pedestrians. Drivers should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible. Pedestrian impact: Pedestrians are asked to use alternative crosswalks to navigate around the intersection as the sidewalks will be closed. Transit Impact: Inbound and outbound Halifax Transit routes 9A and 9B will be detoured as follows:- Inbound bus stops on Bell Road, between Robie and Summer streets, and on Summer Street, between Bell Road and Veterans Memorial Lane, will be temporarily closed. The outbound stop on Summer street will continue to be serviced.
- Inbound routes will be detoured to Robie Street and Veterans Memorial Lane, and outbound routes will detour to Ahern Avenue and Cogswell Street.

Upcoming lane drops on Upper Water Street in support of the Cogswell District project
Location: Upper Water Street, in front of Purdy’s Lane, as well as Upper Water Street before Hollis Street
Date: Tuesday, March 25 to Friday March 28, 2025
Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day
Work details: These lane drops are required to allow for the installation of pipe infrastructure in support of the Cogswell District project.
Traffic impact: There will be a lane drop on Upper Water/Hollis Streets between Granville Park and Ordinance Park from Tuesday, March 25, to Wednesday, March 26, to allow for the installation of a storm manhole. Traffic will be reduced to one lane southbound.
There will also be a lane drop on Upper Water Street at Purdy’s Lane from Wednesday, March 26 to Friday, March 28, to allow for the installation of pipe across the street. The street will be reduced to one lane and there will be stop and go traffic while work is underway.
Motorists should expect delays for the duration of this work and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.
Pedestrian and Cyclist impact: The multi-use path along Upper Water Street will remain open during this work.

Road Closure – Chebucto Road
Location: Chebucto Road, between Oxford and Kline streets
Date: Saturday, March 22 and Sunday, March 23
Time: 8 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Work details: This is required for the installation of a new utility pole and anchor in the area.
Traffic Impact: One lane of traffic will be closed on Chebucto Road, between Oxford and Kline streets, while work is underway. Vehicles will be detoured around the closed traffic lane to access Oxford and North streets during the closure. Pedestrian Wayfinding signage will be in place, as the sidewalk on the work site will be closed as well. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes wherever possible.
