**** TRANSPORTATION Media Release Weekly Traffic Advisories (Sept 18) Note:  Each week the local listings are expanded and updated.  During the week new and updated tasks are added.  Every week a new post is started with fresh info but previous posts may be still valid. HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Long Cove Bridge Long Cove Bridge on West Pennant Road, West Pennant, will be closed between Sept. 21 and 25 daily between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. to allow for repairs. Detours will be in place. --- HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Bedford Bypass A repaving and guardrail project is taking place on the Bedford Bypass westbound lanes, from the exit to Dartmouth Road to the overpass near the intersection of Highway 101. Repairs will also be carried out to the structures over Memory Lane, Rocky Lake Drive and Highway 102 from 7 p.m. to 3 p.m. Motorists should expect delays. A detour will be in place for traffic bound for Highway 101. Traffic will be rerouted to Cobequid Road, Glendale Avenue, Highway 102 and Highway 101. The work is expected to be completed by Wednesday, Sept. 30. --- HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Dillmans Bridge, Meaghers Grant ​ Dillmans Bridge, on Wyse Road in Meaghers Grant, will be closed until further notice. A detour is available via Old Guysborough Road. Signs are in place. --- HANTS COUNTY: Highway 102, Lantz A temporary detour is in place on Highway 102 north of Exit 8, Elmsdale, for the replacement of the Nine Mile River bridges, northbound and southbound. This work is part of ongoing construction for the new Lantz Interchange and Connector Road. ​ The detour has a reduced speed limit of 80 kilometres an hour and is expected to be in place until mid-summer 2021. ​ The Lantz Interchange and Connector Road is expected to be complete and open to traffic by fall 2021. . **** HRM Media Release

Robie Street – Road Construction

Friday, Sept. 25, 2020 (Halifax, NS)

The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that road construction will take place on Robie Street, between Willow and Cunard streets, on Sunday, Sept. 27.​ This work will require the signals to be shut down at the intersections of North and Robie streets from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and of Cunard and Robie streets from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Stop-and-go traffic will be in place while work is underway. Traffic control personnel will be in place to direct motorists, cyclists and pedestrians around the work site while the signals are shut down.

Dahlia Street – Road Construction

Friday, Sept. 25, 2020 (Halifax, NS)

The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that road construction will take place on Dahlia Street, between Victoria Road and Crichton Avenue on Saturday, Sept. 26.

Crews will be on site from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Stop-and-go traffic will be in place while work is underway.

Victoria Road – Road Construction

Friday, Sept. 25, 2020 (Halifax, NS)

The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that road construction will take place on Victoria Road, between Portland and Thistle streets on Saturday, Sept. 26.

Crews will be on site from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Stop-and-go traffic will be in place while work is underway.

Robie Street – Road Construction

Friday, Sept. 25, 2020 (Halifax, NS)

The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that road construction will take place on Robie Street, between Almon and Willow streets, on Saturday, Sept. 26.​ This work will require the signals to be shut down at the intersections of Almon and Robie streets from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., and of North and Robie streets from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Stop-and-go traffic will be in place while work is underway. Traffic control personnel will be in place to direct motorists, cyclists and pedestrians around the work site while the signals are shut down

Hammonds Plains Road – Road Construction

Friday, Sept. 25, 2020 (Halifax, NS)

The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that road construction will take place on Hammonds Plains Road, between Rockcliffe Crescent and Westwood Boulevard on Saturday, Sept. 26.

Crews will be on site from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Stop-and-go traffic will be in place while work is underway.

Eisener Boulevard – Road Construction

Friday, Sept. 25, 2020 (Halifax, NS)

The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that road construction will take place on Eisener Boulevard, between Portland Street and Portland Estates Boulevard, on Saturday, Sept. 26.

Crews will be on site from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.​ Lane drops will be in place while work is underway.

Johnson Road – Road Construction

Friday, Sept. 25, 2020 (Halifax, NS)

The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that road construction will take place on Johnson Road, between North Preston Road and the end of Johnson Road, on Monday, Sept. 28.

Crews will be on site from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Stop-and-go traffic will be in place while work is underway.

Coburg Road at Seymour & Vernon streets – Road Construction

Thursday, Sept. 24, 2020 (Halifax, NS)

The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that road construction will begin on Friday, Sept. 25 and continue until the end of November at the intersection of Coburg Road at the intersection of Seymour and Vernon streets.​ Work will include intersection improvements to facilitate the implementation of local street bikeways.

Crews will be on site from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.​ Lane drops​ will be in place while work is underway.

Robie and North Streets – Road Construction

Thursday, Sept. 24 (Halifax, NS)

The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that road construction will require the signals to be shut down at the intersection of Robie and North streets on Thursday, Sept. 24.​

Crews will be on site from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Stop-and-go traffic will be in place while work is underway. Traffic control personnel will be in place to direct motorists, cyclists and pedestrians around the work site while the signals are shut down.

Highway 2 – Road Construction

Thursday, Sept. 24, 2020 (Halifax, NS)

The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that road construction will take place on Highway 2 between Collins Drive and Sunnylea Road on Friday Sept. 25.

Crews will be on site from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. each day.​ Stop-and-go traffic will be in place while work is underway. ​

Public Service Announcement Chebucto Road – Traffic Delay

Friday, September 18, 2020 (Halifax, NS)

The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents to expect delays on Chebucto Road, between North and Connolly streets, from on Monday, September 21 to Tuesday, September 22 and Thursday, September 24.

Crews will be on site from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, and from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday. Two-way traffic will be maintained while work is underway.

Chebucto Road – Traffic Delay

Friday, September 18, 2020 (Halifax, NS)

The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents to expect delays on Chebucto Road, between North and Connolly streets, from Monday, September 21 to Tuesday, September 22.

Crews will be on site from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day 8 p.m. Monday, and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday. Two-way traffic will be maintained while work is underway.

Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Gladstone Street – Road Closure

Friday, September 18, 2020 (Halifax, NS)

The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that Gladstone Street, between Summit Street and Windsor Terrace, will be closed from 8 a.m. on​ Saturday, September 19 until 6 p.m. on Sunday, September 20.

Crews will be on site from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. A marked detour will be in place while work is underway. Pedestrian traffic will be directed around the work site as necessary.​

Crews will be on site from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Two-way traffic will be maintained while work is underway. . Bedford Highway – Traffic Delay Friday, September 18, 2020 (Halifax, NS) The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents to expect delays on the Bedford Highway, between Seton Road and Sherbrook Drive, on Saturday, September 19. Crews will be on site from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Two-way traffic will be maintained while work is underway. .
