Traffic Delay – Lucasville Road
Location: Lucasville Road at the bridge over the Sackville River
Date: Monday, May 6 until early 2025
Time: 24/7
Work details: This work is to facilitate the rehabilitation of the Lucasville Bridge. This is in support of the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.
Traffic impact: Temporary traffic signals will be installed to control traffic flow through the work site as work progresses on the Lucasville Bridge rehabilitation project. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to take alternative routes whenever possible.

Road Closure – Hornes Road Bridge Location: Hornes Road Bridge, between Cow Bay Road and Caldwell Road Date: July 2, 2024 to November 2024 Time: 24/7 Work details: This closure is to facilitate the rebuilding of the bridge. Traffic impact: A signed detour will be in place. Halifax Transit will be re-routed and the following stops will be closed:- Hornes Road at civic 12 (2221)

Road Closure – Locke Street

Date: Tuesday, Sept. 10 to Monday, Oct. 21
Time: 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. (weekdays only)
Work details: This is to facilitate asphalt repairs in support of the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.
Traffic impact: Local traffic will be maintained with traffic control personnel on-site. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.

Traffic impact: The traffic lights and signals at the intersection of Oxford Street and Jubilee Road will not be operational while work is underway. Stop-and-go traffic will be in place to guide motorists through the work area. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to take alternative routes whenever possible.

Location: Robie Street, between College Street and University Avenue
Date: Tuesday Sept. 17 to Friday, Sept. 20
Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily
Work details: This work is to support the installation of a natural gas pipeline installation and right of way restoration.
Traffic impact: Two-way traffic will be maintained at all times during traffic disruption. Peak hour traffic restrictions on the street must be followed.

Location: Bauer Street, from Cogswell to Nora Bernard streets
Date: Tuesday, Sept. 17
Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Work details: This work includes road repair on Bauer Street in support of the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.
Traffic impact: There will be a lane drop on Cogswell Street from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and stop-and-go traffic on Nora Bernard Street from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to take alternative routes whenever possible.

Location: University Avenue, from Robie Street to Summer Street
Date: Monday, Sept. 23 to Friday, Oct. 11
Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Work details: This work is to facilitate in street service installations for the IWK Health Centre.
Traffic impact: Traffic control personnel will be on site to guide motorists and pedestrians through the work area. Motorists should expect delays and are asking to use alternative routes wherever possible.

Location: Isleville Street, from Young Street to Livingstone Street
Date: Monday, Sept. 16 to Wednesday, Sept. 25
Time: 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Work details: This is to facilitate gravel shoulder regrading.
Traffic impact: Two-way traffic will be maintained with an altered centreline in place. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.

Location: Ilsley Avenue, from Ronald Smith to 200 Ilsley avenues
Date: Sunday, Sept. 15 to Friday, Sept. 20
Time: Night shifts from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., with additional day shifts from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. (as needed)
