Traffic Delay – Glendale Drive
Location: Glendale Drive from Beaverbank Road to Riverside Drive Date: Monday, May 15 Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Work details: This is to facilitate asphalt repair. This project supports the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network. Traffic impact: Stop-and-go traffic will be in place while work is underway. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to take alternative routes whenever possible. .Traffic Delay – Osborne Street
Location: Osborne Street from Withrod Drive to Herring Cove Road Date: Friday, May 12 Time: 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Work details: This work is to facilitate road construction. This project supports the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network. Traffic impact: Stop-and-go traffic will be in place while work is underway. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to take alternative routes whenever possible. .Traffic Delay – Wyse Road
Location: Wyse Road, between Dawson Street & Nantucket Avenue Date: Friday, May 12 Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Work details: This work is to facilitate borehole drilling on the sidewalks of Wyse Road and Faulkner Street. Traffic impact: A southbound lane drop will be in place on Wyse Road. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible. .Road Construction – Old Sambro Road
Location: Old Sambro Road, from Sussex Street to 191 Old Sambro Road Date: Thursday, May 11 Time: 2-4 p.m. Work details: Traffic delays will be in place to facilitate road construction. Location: Montague Road from Montague Mines Road to Serpentine Avenue Date: Thursday, May 11 Time: 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. Work details: This work is to facilitate road construction. This project supports the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network. Traffic impact: There will be lane drops in place, with occasional stop and go traffic while work is underway. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to take alternative routes whenever possible. .UPDATE: This work will now take place Wednesday, May 10 and Thursday, May 11.
Public Service Announcement Trail Closure – Penhorn Lake Park Trail
Location: Penhorn Lake Park Trail
Date: Tuesday, May 9 and Wednesday, May 10 Wednesday, May 10 and Thursday, May 11
Work details: This work will upgrade the existing stormwater channel into Penhorn Park. The existing stormwater outfall in this location has already been removed and will be replaced with a new stormceptor to help treat the stormwater. A temporary construction easement will be in place for cutting some trees along the alignment for the stormwater channel upgrades.
Traffic impact: The trail will be closed at times to facilitate this work. Users are asked to exercise caution and be aware of barriers, staff, and equipment on site.

Locations:- Highway 2 – Sunnylea Road to Collins Drive (9 a.m. to 11 a.m. only)
- Highway 2 – Fall River Road roundabout to Rocky Lake Drive (11 a.m. to 1 p.m. only)
- Highway 2 – Coach Avenue to Holland Drive (1 p.m. to 4 p.m. only)

Location: Dartmouth Date: Sunday, May 7 Time: 8 a.m. to noon Details: Traffic delays will be in place to facilitate the 2023 Bum Run. Traffic impact: The run will impact:- Sullivan’s Pond

Road Construction – Broad Street
Location: Broad Street (north) and Larry Uteck Boulevard
Dates: Tuesday, May 9 to Sunday, July 9
Time: 24/7
Work details: This work is related to the construction of a new roundabout at the intersection of Larry Uteck Boulevard, Brookline Drive (north) and Broad Street (north).
Traffic impacts: Larry Uteck Boulevard will be opened to motorists with local access only to Broad Street (north). Motorists, pedestrians and cyclists will detour to Bluewater Road and Gary Martin Drive. Pedestrian and cyclist access is not permitted through the construction site during active construction.
.Traffic Delay – Joseph Howe Drive
Location: Joseph Howe Drive, between Rosemount Avenue and Walton Drive Date: Monday, May 8 Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Work details: Traffic delays will be in place to facilitate underground utility work. Traffic impact: A lane drop will be in place for southbound traffic. The sidewalk on the west side will be closed. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible. .Traffic Delay – Jubilee Road
Location: Jubilee Road, between Chestnut and Walnut streets Date: Friday, May 5 Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Work details: Traffic delays will be in place to facilitate underground utility work. Traffic impact: Stop-and-go traffic will be in place while work is underway. The sidewalk on the south side will be closed. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible. .UPDATE: This work was completed ahead of schedule. Robie Street will reopen as of 6 p.m. on Friday, May 5.
Public Service Announcement Road Closure – Robie Street
Location: Robie Street (south bound), from Cunard Street to Quinpool Road Dates: Tuesday, May 2 to Friday, May 12 Time: 24/7 Work details: This work is related to the installation of underground infrastructure for the development at 6015 Quinpool Road. Traffic impacts: Motorists, cyclists and Halifax Transit will detour via Cunard, North Park, Trollope and Summer streets and Veterans Memorial Lane. Pedestrians will maintain access via Robie Street sidewalks on the east side of the road (along the Halifax Commons). Halifax Transit will be temporarily closing the three south bound bus stops between Cunard Street and Quinpool Road on the west side of Robie Street. A temporary bus stop will be placed on the south side of Cunard Street between Robie Street and North Park Street. Residents should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible. . **** Halifax Water ReleaseWyse Road & Jamieson Street Area – Curb & Sidewalk Reinstatement
On behalf of Halifax Water, ARCP Limited will complete curb and sidewalk reinstatement work in the Wyse Road and Jamieson Street area. This work will take place from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM beginning Monday, May 8, and continuing for approximately three weeks.
During this work, there will be rolling sections of stop-and-go traffic on:
- Windmill Road near Jamieson Street
- Jamieson Street
- Wyse Road near Jamieson Street
- Cairn Street
- Graham Street
Rolling sections of the sidewalk near this work will be closed with pedestrian detours in place.
This work will not impact Halifax Water services in the area.

Motorists should expect delays and use alternate routes. Motorists are also reminded that speed fines double in work zones.
