**** Via RCMP As the weekend approaches, RCMP NS is reminding motorists that our officers are committed to keeping roads safe by targeting impaired driving, speeding, and other dangerous behaviours that put road users at risk During just one checkpoint conducted in Lucasville last weekend by RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment (HRD), RCMP HRD Traffic Unit and RCMP Southeast Traffic Services-Metro: ✅ A 22-year-old Halifax woman was stopped after officers observed her turn around before reaching the checkpoint and drive away in an apparent attempt to avoid officers. She provided a roadside breath sample that resulted in a warn and received a seven-day licence suspension, along with tickets for speeding and failing to produce valid insurance. ✅ A 25-year-old man from Head of St. Margarets Bay was arrested for impaired driving after providing a roadside breath sample that resulted in a fail. Subsequent breath tests at the detachment registered readings of 150 mg% and 140 mg%. ✅ Officers also issued summary offence tickets for driving while revoked, driving while suspended, operating a motor vehicle without a valid safety inspection, in addition to providing a number of warnings.
