Traffic Delay – Flamingo Drive
Location: Flamingo Drive, from Canary Crescent to Knightsridge Drive
Dates/times: Friday, July 31, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Tuesday, Aug. 4, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Work details: This is to facilitate road repair work in support of the Moving Better goals outlined in the 2026–2030 Strategic Plan.
Traffic impact: Lane drops and stop-and-go traffic will be in place while work is underway. Drivers should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.

Traffic Delay – Kearney Lake Road
Location: Kearney Lake Road, between Dunbrack Street and Bedford Highway
Date: Thursday, July 30 and Friday, July 31
Time: Thursday, July 30 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Friday, July 31 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Work details: This is to facilitate road repair work in support of the Moving Better goals outlined in the 2026–2030 Strategic Plan.
Traffic impact: There will be a mix of two-way traffic with altered centrelines in place and stop-and-go traffic during this work. Drivers should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.
Sidewalk impact: The south sidewalk will be closed with a marked detour in place during portions of this work.

Traffic Delay – Glendale Drive
Location: Glendale Drive, from Beaver Bank Road to Pinehill Drive
Date: Thursday, July 30 and Friday, July 31
Time: Thursday, July 30 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Friday, July 31 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Work details: This is to facilitate road repairs in support of the Moving Better goals outlined in the 2026–2030 Strategic Plan.
Traffic impact: Stop-and-go traffic will be in place while work is underway. Drivers should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.

Traffic disruptions in support of the Bayers Road Transit Priority Corridor Phase 2 project
The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents of upcoming traffic disruptions along Bayers Road, between Connaught Avenue and Windsor Street.
These disruptions are required to facilitate construction of the Bayers Road Transit Priority Corridor Phase 2 project, which is expected to begin during the week of Aug. 4, 2026, and will continue throughout construction seasons, for approximately two years.
Work details: This project is part of the municipality’s Integrated Mobility Plan, Rapid Transit Strategy and supports the Moving Better goals outlined in the 2026–2030 Strategic Plan. Work will include:
- Repaving the street and replacing curbs and sidewalks to improve safety, accessibility, and connectivity for all road users
- Construction of dedicated transit lanes and intersection upgrades to improve transit reliability and support transit priority
- Coordinated underground utility upgrades in partnership with Halifax Water, reducing future disruptions and sharing construction costs
- Design considerations to support future high‑capacity transit, including proposed bus rapid transit service
Traffic impact: Traffic impacts are expected throughout the duration of the project. The standard traffic configuration will include an inbound lane detour, along with additional impacts as required during specific phases of work:
- Inbound lane detour: In place for most of the project timeline, this section of Bayers Road will be open to outbound traffic only. Inbound traffic will be directed along clearly marked detour routes.
- Planned road closures: Some stages of the work will require short-term full road closures within the project area to ensure the safety of residents, road users and construction crews.
Local and emergency access will be maintained at all times.
Planned road closures and any other changes to traffic patterns will be communicated in advance. Drivers should expect delays and are encouraged to use alternative routes where possible.
Sidewalk impact: Sections of sidewalks will be closed in the work area as construction progresses. Access to local properties and businesses maintained.
Transit impact: Routes 1, 8, 192, 194, 196 and outbound trips on Route 330 have been altered in advance of this project. Stops will not be serviced along Bayers Road, between Connaught Avenue and Windsor Street. Temporary stops will be in place along Connaught Avenue, Almon Street and Windsor Street.

Work details: This work is to facilitate the installation of a natural gas pipeline.
Traffic impact: One lane of traffic will be maintained at all times. Drivers should expect delays and are encouraged to use alternative routes where possible.
Sidewalk impact: The sidewalk will be closed. A marked detour will be in place.

Location: Coburg Road, at 6215 Coburg Road
Date: Thursday, July 30
Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Work details: This work is needed to install a natural gas pipeline.
Traffic impact: One lane of traffic will be maintained during work. Drivers should expect delays and are encouraged to use alternative routes where possible.
Sidewalk impact: The sidewalk near 6215 Coburg Road will be closed during work. A signed pedestrian detour will be in place.

Road Closure – Kearney Lake Road
Location: Kearney Lake Road, between Bedford Highway and Dunbrack Street
Date: Saturday, July 25 and Monday, July 27 to Tuesday, July 28
Time: Saturday, July 25 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Monday, July 27 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. (overnight work)
Work details: This is to facilitate road repair work in support of the Moving Better goals outlined in the 2026–2030 Strategic Plan.
Traffic impact: This section of road will be closed while work is underway. Marked detours will be in place. Drivers should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.
Sidewalk impact: One sidewalk will be closed for repairs. The other sidewalk will remain open for pedestrian access.

Location: Rainnie Drive, from Cogswell to Gottingen streets
Date: Monday, July 27 to Friday, July 31
Time: 24/7
Work details: This closure is for the Wije'winen Open Street event.
Traffic impact: This section of road will be closed while the event is underway with detours in place. Drivers are asked to use alternative routes where possible.

Traffic disruptions in support of Sackville Drive repaving and maintenance work
The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents of upcoming traffic delays on Sackville Drive, between Beaver Bank Road and Florence Street.
These traffic delays are required to facilitate road maintenance and infrastructure work as part of the Sackville Drive repaving and maintenance project. Work is expected to begin in the coming weeks and is anticipated to be completed in fall 2026.
Time: 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. for weekday work and 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. for weeknight work
Work details: This project includes coordinated road maintenance and infrastructure improvements designed to enhance safety, accessibility and long-term road conditions, including:
Repairs and replacements of concrete sidewalks, curbs and driveway connections
Concrete repairs and maintenance at transit stops
Adjustments to manholes and water valves in the street
Milling (removing) the top layer of worn asphalt
Spot repairs to the asphalt base layer
Repaving with new asphalt
Repainting pavement markings and crosswalks
Landscaping
This work aligns with the Moving Better goals outlined in the 2026–2030 Strategic Plan.
Traffic impact: Traffic impacts are expected throughout the duration of the project and may include the following:
Weekday impacts: Two-way traffic will be maintained throughout this project with a lane reduction in place. This is expected to be the standard daytime traffic impact during this project.
Weeknight impacts: Two-way traffic will be maintained throughout this project with an altered centreline in place. This is expected to be the standard overnight traffic impact during this project.
Local, business and emergency access will be maintained at all times.
Work on concrete driveway connections will be done in sections, so each impacted property will always have access. When work is happening on one part of a driveway, another part will remain open, or an alternate access point will be available.
Drivers should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.
Sidewalk impact: Sections of sidewalks will be temporarily closed as work progresses. Marked detours will be in place.
Access to the Sackville Greenway Trail and the Sackville Public Library will be maintained during this work.

Traffic disruptions in support of Hammonds Plains Road repaving and maintenance work
The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents of upcoming traffic delays on Hammonds Plains Road between civic 1220 Hammonds Plains Road and Gary Martin Drive.
These traffic delays are required to facilitate road maintenance and infrastructure work in this area, which will begin Thursday, July 16 and are anticipated to be completed Friday, August 14.
Time: 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. (weeknights)
Work details: This project includes coordinated road maintenance and infrastructure improvements designed to enhance safety, accessibility and long-term road conditions, including:
Adjustments to manholes and water valves in the street
Milling (removing) the top layer of worn asphalt
Repaving with new asphalt
Repainting pavement markings and crosswalks
Shouldering, minor landscaping and driveway connection work

Weeknight impacts: 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. weeknights. A mix of stop-and-go and altered centre lines will be utilized to help maintain efficient traffic flow and to minimize disruption. This is expected to be the standard overnight traffic impact during this project.
Weekend work: 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Local access and emergency access will be maintained.
