Municipality offering free swimming programs at rural beaches and lakes
The Halifax Regional Municipality is continuing its free rural swim programs for children, youth and adults at supervised municipal beaches and lakes this summer.
The programs include an introductory learn-to-swim model, and a lifesaving program including Bronze Cross and Intermediate Workplace First Aid.
These programs complement the municipality’s annual swim lesson programs, which also take place at supervised beaches across the region. It also aligns with the recommendations of the Rural Recreation Strategy.
All lessons are free and ages for each program differ.
