Traffic Delay – Woodlawn Road
Location: Woodlawn Road, between Mount Edward and Valleyfield roads
Date: Friday, July 24 to Saturday, July 25
Time: 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. (overnight work)
Work details: This is to facilitate pavement markings in support of the Moving Better goals outlined in the 2026–2030 Strategic Plan.
Traffic impact: Lane drops will be in place while work is underway. Drivers should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.

Traffic Delay – Bedford Highway
Location: Bedford Highway, at the intersection of Convoy Run
Date: Friday, July 24
Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Work details: This is to facilitate a natural gas service to 15 Convoy Run
Traffic impact: A lane drop will be in place while work is underway, with two-way traffic maintained. Drivers should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.
Sidewalk impact: The sidewalk within the work area will be closed to pedestrians. A marked detour will be in place.
Active transportation impact: With the lane drop, cyclists are asked to merge with traffic.

Traffic delay – Intersection of Highway 111 and Windsor Street
Location: Intersection of Highway 111 and Windsor Street
Date: Thursday, July 23
Time: 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Work details: To facilitate underground infrastructure work along Windsor Street in support of the Windsor Street Exchange project.
Traffic impact: The leftmost turning lane from Windsor Street to Highway 111 will be closed for the duration of the work. The adjacent turning lane will remain open and unaffected. Please follow all applicable signage. Drivers should expect are asked to use alternative routes where possible.

Ramp Closure - Highway 111 (Windsor Street Exchange)
Location: Highway 111 at the inbound Robie Street off-ramp
Date: Thursday, July 23 to Friday, July 24
Time: 7 p.m. on Thursday to 5 a.m. on Friday
Work details: This is to facilitate the realignment of three existing street lights on/near the Robie Street off-ramp of Highway 111 in support of Windsor Street Exchange project.
Traffic impact: Barrington Street, starting west of Africville Road, will be reduced to a single outbound lane for the duration of the work. Drivers travelling towards the Windsor Street Exchange will not be able to access the Robie Street off-ramp. A detour will be in place through the Highway 111/Windsor Street intersection. Please follow all applicable signage. Drivers should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.

Location: Kearney Lake Road, from Bedford Highway to Dunbrack Street
Date: Thursday, July 23
Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Road Closure – Waverley Road
Location: Waverley Road, between civics 1291 and 1335
Dates: Friday, July 24 to Monday, July 27
Time: 7 p.m. on Friday to 7 a.m. on Monday
Work details: This work is to facilitate retaining wall construction, guardrail installation and utility pole relocation in support of the Waverley Road guiderail and retaining wall project.
Traffic impact: Local traffic will be able to access properties from either end of the closure, but through traffic will not be permitted. Emergency access will be maintained at all times. Drivers should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.

Location: Main Avenue, from Skeena and Borden streets
Date: Sunday, July 19 to Monday, July 20

Work details: This is to facilitate watermain tie ins support of the Moving Better goals outlined in the 2026–2030 Strategic Plan
Traffic impact: Stop-and-go traffic control will be in place while work is underway. Drivers should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.
Sidewalk impact: The sidewalk between Skeena and Borden streets will be closed with marked detours in place.

Traffic disruptions in support of Sackville Drive repaving and maintenance work
The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents of upcoming traffic delays on Sackville Drive, between Beaver Bank Road and Florence Street.
These traffic delays are required to facilitate road maintenance and infrastructure work as part of the Sackville Drive repaving and maintenance project. Work is expected to begin in the coming weeks and is anticipated to be completed in fall 2026.
Time: 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. for weekday work and 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. for weeknight work
Work details: This project includes coordinated road maintenance and infrastructure improvements designed to enhance safety, accessibility and long-term road conditions, including:
Repairs and replacements of concrete sidewalks, curbs and driveway connections
Concrete repairs and maintenance at transit stops
Adjustments to manholes and water valves in the street
Milling (removing) the top layer of worn asphalt
Spot repairs to the asphalt base layer
Repaving with new asphalt
Repainting pavement markings and crosswalks
Landscaping
This work aligns with the Moving Better goals outlined in the 2026–2030 Strategic Plan.
Traffic impact: Traffic impacts are expected throughout the duration of the project and may include the following:
Weekday impacts: Two-way traffic will be maintained throughout this project with a lane reduction in place. This is expected to be the standard daytime traffic impact during this project.
Weeknight impacts: Two-way traffic will be maintained throughout this project with an altered centreline in place. This is expected to be the standard overnight traffic impact during this project.
Local, business and emergency access will be maintained at all times.
Work on concrete driveway connections will be done in sections, so each impacted property will always have access. When work is happening on one part of a driveway, another part will remain open, or an alternate access point will be available.
Drivers should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.
Sidewalk impact: Sections of sidewalks will be temporarily closed as work progresses. Marked detours will be in place.
Access to the Sackville Greenway Trail and the Sackville Public Library will be maintained during this work.
Transit impact: There will be short-term closures of Halifax Transit bus stops as replacement and repair work progresses. Visit our website for up-to-date impacts to Halifax Transit routes and bus stops.

Traffic disruptions in support of Hammonds Plains Road repaving and maintenance work
The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents of upcoming traffic delays on Hammonds Plains Road between civic 1220 Hammonds Plains Road and Gary Martin Drive.
These traffic delays are required to facilitate road maintenance and infrastructure work in this area, which will begin Thursday, July 16 and are anticipated to be completed Friday, August 14.
Time: 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. (weeknights)
Work details: This project includes coordinated road maintenance and infrastructure improvements designed to enhance safety, accessibility and long-term road conditions, including:
Adjustments to manholes and water valves in the street
Milling (removing) the top layer of worn asphalt
Repaving with new asphalt
Repainting pavement markings and crosswalks
Shouldering, minor landscaping and driveway connection work
