Traffic Delay – Intersection of Windsor and Almon streets
Location: Intersection of Windsor and Almon streets
Date: Friday, July 3
Time: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Work details: This is to facilitate traffic signal work in support of the Moving Better goals outlined in the 2026–2030 Strategic Plan.
Traffic impact: Stop-and-go traffic will be in place while work is underway. Drivers should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.

Traffic Delay – Herring Cove Road
Location: Herring Cove Road, between Windermere and Purcells Cove roads
Date: Tuesday, July 7 to Thursday, July 9
Time: 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. (overnight work)
Work details: This is to facilitate geotechnical survey work in support of Chocolate Lake Dam replacement project planning.
Traffic impact: Two-way traffic will be maintained with a lane reduction in place while this work is underway. Drivers should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.

Street Closure – Oakmount Drive
Location: Oakmount Drive, between Bedford Highway and Redbank Road
Date: Thursday, July 2 and Friday, July 3
Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Work details: This is to facilitate storm service infrastructure work in support of the Moving Better goals outlined in the 2026–2030 Strategic Plan.
Traffic impact: This road will be closed with a marked detour in place while work is underway. Drivers should expect delays.
Sidewalk impact: The sidewalk on Bedford Highway near Oakmount Drive will be closed with a marked detour in place while work is underway.

Street Closure – Oakmount Drive
Location: Oakmount Drive, between Bedford Highway and Redbank Road

Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Traffic Delay – Jubilee Road
Location: Jubilee Road, between Oxford Street and Connaught Avenue
Date: Tuesday, June 30 to Wednesday, July 8
Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays
Work details: This is to facilitate the installation of a natural gas main.
Traffic impact: The southbound lane of Jubilee Road between Oxford Street and Connaught Avenue will be closed to traffic while work is underway. Drivers are asked to expect delays and use alternative routes wherever possible.
Pedestrian impact: The sidewalk within the work site will be closed. Signage will be in place to direct pedestrians to the nearest crosswalk.

Traffic Delay – Jubilee Road
Location: Jubilee Road, between Beech Street and Rosebank Avenue
Date: Wednesday, June 24 to Friday, July 10
Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Work details: This work is to facilitate the installation of a new natural gas main.
Traffic impact: Lane drops will be in place during work. Traffic control personnel will be on site. Drivers should expect delays and are encouraged to use alternative routes wherever possible.
Sidewalk impact: Traffic control personnel will be on site to guide pedestrians around the work area.

Location: Intersection of Pleasant Street and Highway 111
Date: Monday, June 29 to Friday, July 3
Time: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Work details: This is to facilitate road repairs in support of the Moving Better goals outlined in the 2026–2030 Strategic Plan.
Traffic impact: An altered centreline and stop-and-go traffic will be in place while work is underway. Drivers are asked to expect delays and use alternative routes wherever possible.

Traffic Delay – Woodlawn Road
Location: Woodlawn Road, between Mount Edward and Valleyfield roads
Date: Friday, June 26 and Sunday, June 28 to Tuesday, June 30
Time: 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Work details: This is to facilitate road repair work in support of the Moving Better goals outlined in the 2026–2030 Strategic Plan.
Traffic impact: There will be stop-and-go traffic at the intersection of Valleyfield Road and Woodlawn Road with the traffic signals shut off when working in the intersection. There will be an altered centerline and single lane drop after 4 p.m. Drivers should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.
Transit impact: The bus stop on Woodlawn Road at Guysborough Avenue (8595) will be closed while this work is underway

Traffic Delay – Intersection of Bayers Road and Connolly Street
Location: Intersection of Bayers Road and Connolly Street
Date: Friday, June 26
Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Work details: This is to facilitate preparations for the upcoming Bayers Road Transit Priority Corridor project.
Traffic impact: There will be stop-and-go traffic in place while this work is underway. Drivers should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.

Traffic disruptions in support of Windsor Street repaving and maintenance work
The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents of upcoming traffic delays on Windsor Street, between North and Almon streets to facilitate road maintenance and infrastructure work in this area. Work will begin in mid-June and is anticipated to be completed by late July.
Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for weekday work and 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. for weeknight work
Work details: This project includes coordinated road maintenance and infrastructure improvements designed to enhance safety, accessibility and long-term road conditions, including:
Spot repairs to concrete curbs
Adjustments to manholes and water valves in the street
Milling (removing) the top layer of worn asphalt
Repaving with new asphalt
Repainting pavement markings and crosswalks
Minor landscaping and driveway tie-ins
This work aligns with the Moving Better goals outlined in the 2026–2030 Strategic Plan.
Traffic impact: Traffic impacts are expected throughout the duration of the project and may include:
Weekday impacts: Two-way traffic will be maintained with an altered centreline in place. This is expected to be the standard daytime traffic impact during the project.
Weeknight impacts: Stop-and-go traffic will be maintained to minimize disruption and avoid full road closures. This is expected to be the standard overnight traffic impact during the project.
Weekend work: Some locations may require weekend work to minimize daytime traffic impacts.
Local access and emergency access will be maintained at all times.

Active transportation impact: Bike lanes in this area will be temporarily closed while this work is underway.

Traffic disruptions in support of the Waverley Road guiderail and retaining wall project
The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents of upcoming traffic disruptions along Waverley Road, between civics 1291 and 1335.
These disruptions are required to facilitate construction in support of the Waverley Road guiderail and retaining wall project, which is expected to begin during the week of June 8 (weather dependent) and be completed by late summer/early fall 2026.
Work details: This project will include several coordinated improvements designed to enhance road safety and long-term reliability, including:
Replacement and extension of the existing guiderail on the west side of Waverley Road adjacent to civic 1291
Shoulder widening toward Lake William to accommodate the new guiderail
Construction of a new retaining wall in select areas, along with slope reshaping and stabilization
Full‑width repaving of Waverley Road within the project area following construction
Replacement of stormwater pipes and culverts in the project area in coordination with Halifax Water
Temporary utility pole and line relocations in coordination with Nova Scotia Power, to facilitate the guiderail project
Traffic impacts: Traffic impacts are expected throughout the duration of the project and will include the following:
Stop-and-go traffic: For much of the project, this section of Waverley Road will be reduced to a single lane, with stop-and-go traffic in place day and night. This is expected to be the default traffic condition during this project.
Planned road closures: Some stages of the work will require short-term full road closures within the project area to ensure the safety of residents, road users and construction crews. These closures will be planned and communicated in advance. Local access will be maintained from both ends of the closure, and emergency access will be maintained at all times.
Drivers should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.

Street Closure – Halfway Lake Drive
Location: Halfway Lake Drive, near civic 88 Halfway Lake Drive
Date: April 17, 2026, until late 2027
Time: 24-7
Work details: This area has been closed out of an abundance of caution to protect public safety, as the culverts have reached the end of their useful life at this location. Municipal staff are prioritizing efforts to progress the replacement of these culverts with a new bridge. This project supports the Moving Better goals outlined in the 2026–2030 Strategic Plan.
Traffic impact: A detour will be in place around this closure via Kipawa Crescent and Chippawa Street. Drivers should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.
Active transportation impact: Access for people walking and rolling will be maintained during this closure.

Street Closure – Argyle Street
Location: Argyle Street, between Prince and Blowers streets
Date: Friday, April 17 until mid-November
Time: 24-7
Work details: This is to facilitate the seasonal closure of Argyle Street to motor vehicles, in support of the Moving Better goals outlined in the 2026–2030 Strategic Plan.
Traffic impact: Argyle Street will remain fully open to people walking, cycling and rolling. Access to all stores and restaurants will be maintained. Drivers are asked to use alternative routes.

Road Closure – Tower Road
Location: Tower Road CN bridge, between Southwood and Pine Hill drives
Date: Wednesday, Feb. 4 until December 2026
Time: 24-7
Work details: This is to facilitate the Tower Road CN Bridge Rehabilitation project, part of a long-term plan to improve safety and reliability by rehabilitating seven CN-owned bridges on the Halifax peninsula.
Traffic impact: The Tower Road CN bridge will be closed for all use, including drivers, cyclists and pedestrians, while this work is underway. A marked detour via the Young Avenue CN bridge will be in place while this work is underway. Drivers should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.
The municipality is working with CN, Halifax Water and other involved utilities to coordinate construction activities and minimize impacts where possible.
Transit impact: Halifax Transit route 29 will detour around this work. Five bus stops will be impacted during this closure to accommodate these changes. Updates will be posted on: halifax.ca/htdisruptions
