RCMP arrest man for impaired driving following a single-vehicle crash
RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment has arrested a man for impaired driving following a single-vehicle crash in Fall River.
On June 24, at approximately 9:50 p.m., RCMP, EHS and fire services responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash on Sutherland Dr. near Limestone Ave. Upon arrival, officers observed a Honda Civic on its roof off the roadway. The driver was being assessed by fire services.
Officers spoke with the driver and observed signs of impairment. A roadside breath sample was obtained, which resulted in a fail.
The 20-year-old man from Fall River was arrested for impaired driving. He was transported to the Lower Sackville RCMP Detachment, where he provided breath samples of 160 mg%,120 mg% and 110 mg%.
He was released and will appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court at a later date.

-Antigonish County District RCMP investigating fatal collision
Antigonish County District RCMP is investigating a fatal collision involving three vehicles that occurred on Hwy. 104 near Beaver Meadow.
On June 24 at approximately 2:25 p.m., RCMP, fire services, and EHS responded to a report of a multi-vehicle collision in the westbound lanes of Hwy. 104, between exits 30 and 31.
Officers learned that a Dodge Ram 2500 towing a trailer rearended a Honda CRV as traffic was slowed near a construction zone. The Honda CRV was pushed forward and struck a semi trailer.
The driver of the SUV, a 67-year-old man, and the passenger, a 59-year-old woman, both from Paq’tnkek, were pronounced deceased at the scene.
There were no injuries reported by the drivers or passengers of other vehicles.
An RCMP collision reconstructionist attended the scene. The investigation is ongoing with support from the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service.
The westbound lanes of Hwy. 104 were closed for several hours but have since reopened.
