Lane Closure – Robie Street
Location: Robie Street, between Quinpool and Jubilee roads
Date and time: 6 a.m. on Saturday, May 23 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 24
Work details: This work is related to the provincial QEII Halifax Infirmary Expansion project.
Traffic impact: This section of Robie Street will be closed to northbound traffic with a marked detour in place. Drivers should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible. Southbound traffic will not be impacted.
Sidewalk impact: Sidewalks along the east side of the work area are closed. Sidewalks on the west side will remain open.

Traffic Delay – Joseph Zatzman Drive
Location: Joseph Zatzman Drive, between Akerley Boulevard and Wright Avenue
Date: Thursday, May 21
Time: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Work details: This work is to facilitate road repairs in support of the Moving Better goals outlined in the 2026–2030 Strategic Plan.
Traffic impact: An altered centreline will be in place while work is underway. Two lanes will be maintained at all times. Drivers should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.

Location: Civic address 2872 Connaught Avenue
Date: Thursday, May 21

Work details: This is to facilitate the Installation of natural gas main and service.
Traffic impact: Stop-and-go traffic control will be in place while work is underway. Drivers should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.
Sidewalk impact: The section of sidewalk will be closed while work is underway. Marked detours will be in place.

Traffic Delay – Kearney Lake Road
Location: Kearney Lake Road from Highway 102 to Dunbrack Street
Date: Wednesday, May 20
Time: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Work details: This is to facilitate road repair work in support of the Moving Better goals outlined in the 2026–2030 Strategic Plan.
Traffic impact: Lane drops will be in place with two lanes remaining open at all times. Drivers should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.

Traffic Delay – Inglis Street
Location: Inglis Street, between Brussels and McLean streets
Date: Wednesday, May 20
Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Work details: This work is needed for the safe installation of a natural gas pipeline in the area.
Traffic impact: One lane will be maintained at all times while this work is underway. Drivers should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.
Pedestrian impact: Sidewalks will be closed while work is underway, with a marked detour in place. Sidewalk users are asked to use alternative routes where possible.

Traffic Delay – Windsor Street
Location: Windsor Street, between North Street and Chebucto Road
Date: Tuesday, May 19
Time: 12:01 a.m. to 5 a.m. (overnight)
Work details: This is to facilitate telecom utility work in the area.
Traffic impact: There will be a lane drop on Windsor Street while work is underway. Stop-and-go traffic will be in place. Drivers should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.

Traffic Delay – Woodlawn Road
Location: Woodlawn Road, between Mount Edward and Valleyfield roads
Date: Tuesday, May 19 to Friday, May 22
Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Work details: This is to facilitate road repair work in support of the Moving Better goals outlined in the 2026–2030 Strategic Plan.
Traffic impact: There will be an altered centerline while work is underway. Drivers should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.
Sidewalk impact: Sections of sidewalks will be closed in the work area as construction progresses. Marked detours will be in place. Access to local properties and businesses will be maintained.
Transit impact: Bus stops #8601 and #8593 will be closed.

Street Closure – Nora Bernard Street
Location: Nora Bernard Street, from Barrington to Brunswick streets
Date: Tuesday, May 19 to Thursday, May 21
Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Work details: This is to facilitate road repairs in support of the Moving Better goals outlined in the 2026–2030 Strategic Plan.
Traffic impact: Amalamek Way (connected to Nora Bernard Street) will be open to local traffic only during this closure. Drivers should expect delays and use alternative routes

Traffic Delay – Cow Bay Road
Location: Cow Bay Road, from Oceanlea to Forestgate drives
Date: Monday, May 18
Time: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Work details: This is to facilitate line paint repairs in support of the Moving Better goals outlined the 2026–2030 Strategic Plan.
Traffic impact: Stop-and-go traffic will be in place while work is underway. Drivers should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.

Upcoming traffic disruptions in support of Agricola Street repaving and maintenance work
The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents of upcoming traffic delays on Agricola Street, between Almon and Charles streets.
These traffic delays are required to facilitate road maintenance and infrastructure work in this area, which will begin on Tuesday, May 19 and are anticipated to be completed on June 12, 2026.
Time: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. for weekday work and 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. for weeknight work (weekdays only)
Work details: This project includes coordinated road maintenance and infrastructure improvements designed to enhance safety, accessibility and long-term road conditions, including:
- Spot repairs to concrete curbs and gutters
- Adjustments to manholes and water valves in the street
- Milling (removing) the top layer of worn asphalt
- Repaving with new asphalt
- Repainting pavement markings and crosswalks
- Minor landscaping and driveway tie-ins
This work aligns with the Moving Better goals outlined in the 2026–2030 Strategic Plan.
Traffic impacts: Traffic impacts are expected throughout the duration of the project and may include the following:
- Weekday impacts:
- From 7 to 9 a.m. and 4 to 6 p.m. (peak traffic times), two-way traffic will be maintained with lane reductions in place.
- Outside of peak traffic times, there will be a mix of stop-and-go traffic and two-way traffic in the work area.
- These are expected to be the standard daytime traffic impacts during this project.
- Weeknight impacts:
- Stop-and-go traffic will be maintained to minimize disruption and avoid full road closures
- This is expected to be the standard overnight traffic impact during this project.
Local access and emergency access will be maintained at all times.
Drivers should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.
On-street parking will be restricted in the project area to enable crews to work safely and to reduce the impact on traffic flows while construction is taking place.
Sidewalk impact: Sidewalks are expected to remain open throughout this project.

Traffic Delay – Intersections of Bishop Street and Barrington, Hollis and Lower Water streets
Location: Intersections of Bishop Street and Barrington, Hollis and Lower Water streets

Work details: This is to facilitate road repair work in support of the Moving Better goals outlined in the 2026–2030 Strategic Plan.
Traffic impact: There will be rolling sections of stop-and-go traffic in these intersections as work proceeds. The existing closure of Bishop Street, between Barrington and Lower Water streets, is still in effect. Drivers should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.

Road Closure – Alma Crescent
Location: Alma Crescent, between Dutch Village Road and Titus Street
Date: Tuesday, May 19 to Tuesday, May 26

Work details: This is to facilitate underground utility service connections in support of the Moving Better goals outlined in the 2026–30 Regional Council Strategic Plan.
Traffic impact: The road will be closed while work is underway. A marked detour will be in place. Drivers should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.
Pedestrian impact: Sidewalks will be closed while work is underway. Sidewalk users are asked to use alternative routes where possible.
Transit impact: Halifax Transit routes 2, 3, 4, 135, 136 and 138 will be detoured.

Location: Ochterloney Street, between Edward and King streets

Work details: This is to facilitate safe crane activity.
Traffic impact: The section of road will be closed while work is underway. A marked detour will be in place. Drivers should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.

Traffic Delay – Dutch Village Road
Location: Dutch Village Road, between Supreme Court and the southern intersection of Joseph Howe Drive and Dutch Village Road
Date: Tuesday, May 12 to Friday, June 19 (weekdays only)
Time: 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Work details: This is to facilitate removal of temporary winter measures for installation of permanent infrastructure, and the installation of benches, grass sod and other remaining landscaping elements of the Dutch Village Road Complete Streets project.
Traffic impact: Two‑way traffic will be maintained whenever possible; however, as work progresses, there will be temporary sections of stop‑and‑go traffic along Dutch Village Road. Drivers should expect delays and consider alternate routes where possible.
Sidewalk and active transportation impacts: There will be rolling sections of sidewalk and bike lane closures while this work is underway. Marked detours will be in place.
