**** Municipal Release
Traffic Delay – Bedford Highway
Locations: Bedford Highway, between Sherbrooke Drive and Seton Road
Date: Thursday, April 9
Time: 7 a.m. until 3 p.m.
Work details: This is to accommodate excavation work for storm infrastructure upgrades in the area.
Traffic impact: A lane closure and altered centreline will be in place while work is underway. Residents should expect delays and use alternative routes.

Traffic Delay – Robie Street
Location: Robie Street, between Quinpool Road and Cherry Street
Date: April 6 to May 3
Time: 24-7
Work details: This work is related to the provincial QEII expansion project.
Traffic impact: Robie Street will be reduced to a single southbound lane in this area.
There will be no access to Shirley Street via Robie Street while this work is underway. Local traffic will be able to access this portion of Shirley Street via Vernon Street.
Drivers should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.
Northbound lanes in this area and access to Pepperell Street via Robie Street will not be impacted by this work.
Sidewalk impact: Sidewalks along the west side of Robie Street will remain open while this work is underway.

Traffic Delay – Windsor Street Exchange
Location: Windsor Street Exchange
Date: Thursday, April 2
Time: 7 to 11 p.m.
Work details: This is to facilitate maintenance to concrete barriers and the road shoulder related to preparations for the upcoming Windsor Street Exchange project.
Traffic impacts: The ramp connecting Lady Hammond Road to Highway 111 will be closed with a marked detour in place.
There will be lane reductions approaching the Windsor Street Exchange from Bedford Highway and Windsor Street.
Highway 111 will be reduced to a single lane between the Windsor Street Exchange and the Massachusetts Avenue ramps.
Drivers should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible

Traffic Delay – Cherry Street
Location: Cherry Street, between Robie and Vernon streets
Date: Tuesday, Feb. 17 to Sunday, April 5
Time: 24/7
Work details: This work is related to the provincial QEII Halifax Infirmary Expansion project.
Traffic impact: The street will be accessible through Vernon Street. There will be no access from Robie Street. A marked detour will be in place around this work. Drivers should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.
Pedestrian impact: Sidewalks along the south side of Cherry Street will remain open during construction.

Traffic Delay – Robie Street
Location: Robie Street, between Shirley Street and Jubilee Road
Date: Tuesday, Feb. 10 to Sunday, April 5
Time: 24/7
Work details: This work is related to the provincial QEII Halifax Infirmary Expansion project.
Traffic impact: The road will be closed to southbound traffic only, with detours and traffic control signs to guide drivers through the area. Northbound traffic will not be impacted. Drivers should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.
Pedestrian Impact: Sidewalks along the west side of Robie Street will remain open during construction.

Road Closure – Tower Road
Location: Tower Road CN bridge, between Southwood and Pine Hill drives
Date: Wednesday, Feb. 4 until December 2026
Time: 24-7
Work details: This is to facilitate the Tower Road CN Bridge Rehabilitation project, part of a long-term plan to improve safety and reliability by rehabilitating seven CN-owned bridges on the Halifax peninsula.
Traffic impact: The Tower Road CN bridge will be closed for all use, including drivers, cyclists and pedestrians, while this work is underway. A marked detour via the Young Avenue CN bridge will be in place while this work is underway. Drivers should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.
The municipality is working with CN, Halifax Water and other involved utilities to coordinate construction activities and minimize impacts where possible.
Transit impact: Halifax Transit route 29 will detour around this work. Five bus stops will be impacted during this closure to accommodate these changes. Updates will be posted on: halifax.ca/htdisruptions

CAPE BRETON REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Campbell Brook Bridge, Sydney
The Campbell Brook Bridge on Keltic Drive is closed for replacement until July 31.
The detour is via Route 305 to Northwest Arm Road to Route 239 to Route 305. The bridge is closed 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Salmon River Truss Bridge, Truro
The Salmon River Truss Bridge connecting Walker and Main streets will have alternating lane closures for roadwork until Wednesday, September 30. Work takes place daily from sunrise to sunset; signs and traffic lights are in place. ---LUNENBURG COUNTY: Highway 103 Twinning, Hubbards to Chester
Highway 103 from two kilometres west of Exit 6 to four kilometres west of Exit 7 has temporary lane closures for blasting until May 2027.
As part of the same project, Trunk 3 from one kilometre west of the carpool parking lot at Exit 7 to 400 metres east of the lot, has temporary lane closures for blasting until June 2026.
The work in both locations is planned for most weekdays at about 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. for about 10 minutes at a time. The eastbound and westbound lanes are both closed during the blasting. Traffic control is in place.There will not be blasting or lane closures on the following: - after noon on Fridays - holidays and days before holidays - weekends.
---PICTOU COUNTY: Moore’s Ford Bridge, River John
The Moore’s Ford Bridge on West Branch Road will be closed until further notice. The detour is via West Branch Road, College Grant Road and Route 256. ---PICTOU COUNTY: Welsford Bridge, River John
The Welsford Bridge on Old Pictou Road is closed until further notice. The detour is via Old Pictou Road, Allen Road, Trunk 6 and River John Road.
