Traffic Delay – Highway 111
Location: Highway 111, from the Massachusetts Avenue ramps toward the Windsor Street Exchange
Date and time: 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 26 to 5 a.m. on Friday, March 27
Work details: This work will facilitate the installation of temporary lighting along Highway 111, in preparation for the construction of a new overpass, as part of the upcoming Windsor Street Exchange project.
Traffic impact: Highway 111 will be reduced to a single lane heading from the Massachusetts Avenue ramps toward the Windsor Street Exchange. While this work is underway, drivers should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.
This work will not impact traffic flows on Highway 111 heading from the Windsor Street Exchange toward the MacKay Bridge.

Road Closure – Ochterloney Street and Crichton Avenue
Locations: Ochterloney Street, between Prince Albert and Maple streets
Crichton Avenue, between Ochterloney and Dahlia streets
Date: Saturday, March 21 to Sunday, March 22
Saturday, March 28 to Sunday, March 29
Time: 24-7
Work details: This work is related to a nearby development and Pole and Anchor Installation.
Traffic impact: Detours and traffic control signs will be in place for vehicles. Drivers should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.
Pedestrian impact: Sidewalk users are asked to use alternative routes wherever possible and follow traffic control signage to move around the work area.

Lane Closure – Robie Street
Location: Robie Street, between Quinpool and Jubilee roads
Date: Saturday, March 21
Time: 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Work details: This work is related to the provincial QEII Halifax Infirmary Expansion project.
Traffic impact: This section of Robie Street will be closed to southbound traffic with a marked detour in place. Drivers should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible. Local streets will be accessible through Vernon Street. Northbound traffic will not be impacted.
Pedestrian Impact: Sidewalks along the east side of Robie Street within the work area will remain closed. A marked pedestrian detour will be in place. West side sidewalks will not be impacted.

Traffic Delay – Bayers Road
Location: Bayers Road, between Romans Avenue and Mailing Street
Date: Tuesday, March 17 and Wednesday, March 18
Time: 24-7
Work details: This is to facilitate Nova Scotia Power utility pole repairs and replacements following damage caused by high winds.
Traffic impact: Bayers Road will be reduced to a single outbound lane in this area. Drivers should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible. The Bayers Round inbound lanes are not impacted by this work.
Transit impact: Halifax Transit routes 8, 28, 192, 194, 196 and 330 travel through this outbound lane and will experience delays due to the lane reductions.
Bus stop 6198 (Bayers Road after Barnstead Lane) is closed while this work is underway. Further updates will be provided on the Halifax Transit service disruptions webpage and on Halifax Transit and municipal social media platforms.
Sidewalk impact: The sidewalk along this section of the Bayers Road outbound lanes will be closed while this work is underway. Traffic control personnel are on-site directing sidewalk users through the work area.

Traffic Delay – Cherry Street
Location: Cherry Street, between Robie and Vernon streets
Date: Tuesday, Feb. 17 to Sunday, April 5
Time: 24/7
Work details: This work is related to the provincial QEII Halifax Infirmary Expansion project.
Traffic impact: The street will be accessible through Vernon Street. There will be no access from Robie Street. A marked detour will be in place around this work. Drivers should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.
Pedestrian impact: Sidewalks along the south side of Cherry Street will remain open during construction.

Street Closure – Cedar Street
Location: Cedar Street, between Robie and Henry streets
Date: Tuesday, Feb. 10 to Friday, March 27
Time: 24/7
Work details: This work is related to the provincial QEII Halifax Infirmary Expansion project.
Traffic impact: The street will be accessible to local traffic only through Henry and Vernon streets. There will be no access from Robie Street. Drivers should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.
Pedestrian Impact: Sidewalks along Cedar Street will remain open during construction.

Traffic impact: The road will be closed to southbound traffic only, with detours and traffic control signs to guide drivers through the area. Northbound traffic will not be impacted. Drivers should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.
Pedestrian Impact: Sidewalks along the west side of Robie Street will remain open during construction.

Road Closure – Tower Road
Location: Tower Road CN bridge, between Southwood and Pine Hill drives
Date: Wednesday, Feb. 4 until December 2026
Time: 24-7
Work details: This is to facilitate the Tower Road CN Bridge Rehabilitation project, part of a long-term plan to improve safety and reliability by rehabilitating seven CN-owned bridges on the Halifax peninsula.
Traffic impact: The Tower Road CN bridge will be closed for all use, including drivers, cyclists and pedestrians, while this work is underway. A marked detour via the Young Avenue CN bridge will be in place while this work is underway. Drivers should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.
The municipality is working with CN, Halifax Water and other involved utilities to coordinate construction activities and minimize impacts where possible.
Transit impact: Halifax Transit route 29 will detour around this work. Five bus stops will be impacted during this closure to accommodate these changes. Updates will be posted on: halifax.ca/htdisruptions

NEW WORK
---ANTIGONISH COUNTY: Highway 104, Tracadie
The westbound lane of Highway 104 near Exit 37, under the East Tracadie overpass, will be closed for culvert repairs on Monday, March 16, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Traffic control will be in place, and motorists should expect delays.

CAPE BRETON REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Campbell Brook Bridge, Sydney
The Campbell Brook Bridge on Keltic Drive is closed for replacement until July 31.
The detour is via Route 305 to Northwest Arm Road to Route 239 to Route 305. The bridge is closed 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Salmon River Truss Bridge, Truro
The Salmon River Truss Bridge connecting Walker and Main streets will have alternating lane closures for roadwork until Wednesday, September 30. Work takes place daily from sunrise to sunset; signs and traffic lights are in place. ---LUNENBURG COUNTY: Highway 103 Twinning, Hubbards to Chester
Highway 103 from two kilometres west of Exit 6 to four kilometres west of Exit 7 has temporary lane closures for blasting until May 2027.
As part of the same project, Trunk 3 from one kilometre west of the carpool parking lot at Exit 7 to 400 metres east of the lot, has temporary lane closures for blasting until June 2026.
The work in both locations is planned for most weekdays at about 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. for about 10 minutes at a time. The eastbound and westbound lanes are both closed during the blasting. Traffic control is in place.There will not be blasting or lane closures on the following: - after noon on Fridays - holidays and days before holidays - weekends.
---PICTOU COUNTY: Moore’s Ford Bridge, River John
The Moore’s Ford Bridge on West Branch Road will be closed until further notice. The detour is via West Branch Road, College Grant Road and Route 256. ---PICTOU COUNTY: Welsford Bridge, River John
The Welsford Bridge on Old Pictou Road is closed until further notice. The detour is via Old Pictou Road, Allen Road, Trunk 6 and River John Road.
