**** Via Town of Truro Spring conditions are affecting travel in parts of Truro and surrounding areas, and residents may notice periodic road closures in the coming weeks With snow melt, ice movement in the Salmon River, and ongoing spring precipitation, the lower end of Park Street may experience intermittent flooding. This section of Park Street is under the jurisdiction of the Province of Nova Scotia, and decisions regarding closures or reopening are made by the NS Department of Public Works based on safety conditions. As these spring conditions change quickly, closures in this area may occur sporadically throughout the season. At the same time, work by the Province of Nova Scotia on the Walker Street bridge has resumed. The bridge is currently reduced to one lane, which may result in increased traffic delays in the surrounding area. The Town of Truro will continue to share updates as information is provided. Residents are encouraged to plan ahead and allow extra travel time if their route includes Park Street or the Walker Street bridge.
