You may see #hfxfirefighters out training like this during the ice season. With changing temperatures and recent snowfall covering many lakes and ponds, it can be difficult to see cracks, open water, or thin areas in the ice. If you’re heading outdoors, remember: no ice is completely safe ice. Use caution, avoid going alone, and stay off the ice if you’re unsure of conditions.
