Traffic Delay – Sackville Drive
Locations: 361 Sackville Drive
Dates: Monday, March 9 to Wednesday, March 11
Time: 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.
Work details: This is to accommodate services installation for a development in the area.
Traffic impact: Work will take place outside of peak traffic times. Lane drops will be in place while work is underway. Residents should expect delays and use alternative routes.

Traffic Delay – Nora Bernard Street
Locations: Nora Bernard Street, between North Park and Gottingen streets
Dates: Tuesday, March 3
Time: 7 a.m. until 3 p.m.
Work details: This work is in support of detailed snow removal.
Traffic impact: There will be temporary closures in the area while work is underway. Residents should expect delays and use alternative routes.

Road Closure – Quinpool Road
Locations: Quinpool Road, from Robie to Beech streets
Dates: Monday, March 2 to Wednesday, March 4
Time: 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. each night
Work details: This work is in support of detailed snow removal.
Traffic impact: Local access only. There will be temporary no parking during snow removal. Sidewalks may also be impacted. Residents should expect delays and use alternative routes.

Traffic signal operations change – Intersection of Dunbrack Street and Main Avenue
Friday, Feb. 27, 2026 (Halifax, N.S.) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents of changes to signal operations at the intersection of Dunbrack Street and Main Avenue.
Location: Intersection of Dunbrack Street and Main Avenue
Date: Saturday, Feb. 28
Time: 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Work details: This is to facilitate traffic signal operation changes.
Traffic impact: There will be stop-and-go traffic in this area while these traffic signal changes are being made. During this time, drivers should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.
Changes to traffic signal operations: The intersection will be modified to operate with fully protected left turns from the Dunbrack Street approaches, meaning drivers can no longer turn left without the flashing green left arrow. On the green arrow, drivers are given the right-of-way to complete left turns free of any other traffic or pedestrian conflicts. The amber arrow warns drivers that the left-turn phase is ending. Once the red ball is displayed on the left turn signal heads, drivers waiting to execute the left-turn movement must wait for the green arrow display during the next cycle.
This change resulted from in-service safety assessments of the intersection which recommended fully protected left turn phasing as an option to address potential left turn conflict with pedestrians and with other vehicles. This change supports the municipality’s Road Safety Strategy, which aims to reduce fatal and injury collisions on municipal roadways. Time: 24/7
Work details: This work is related to the provincial QEII Halifax Infirmary Expansion project.
Traffic impact: The street will be accessible through Vernon Street. There will be no access from Robie Street. A marked detour will be in place around this work. Drivers should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.
Pedestrian impact: Sidewalks along the south side of Cherry Street will remain open during construction.

Street Closure – Cedar Street
Location: Cedar Street, between Robie and Henry streets
Date: Tuesday, Feb. 10 to Friday, March 27
Time: 24/7
Work details: This work is related to the provincial QEII Halifax Infirmary Expansion project.
Traffic impact: The street will be accessible to local traffic only through Henry and Vernon streets. There will be no access from Robie Street. Drivers should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.
Pedestrian Impact: Sidewalks along Cedar Street will remain open during construction.

Location: Robie Street, between Shirley Street and Jubilee Road
Date: Tuesday, Feb. 10 to Sunday, April 5
Time: 24/7
Work details: This work is related to the provincial QEII Halifax Infirmary Expansion project.
Traffic impact: The road will be closed to southbound traffic only, with detours and traffic control signs to guide drivers through the area. Northbound traffic will not be impacted. Drivers should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.
Pedestrian Impact: Sidewalks along the west side of Robie Street will remain open during construction.

Road Closure – Tower Road
Location: Tower Road CN bridge, between Southwood and Pine Hill drives
Date: Wednesday, Feb. 4 until December 2026
Time: 24-7
Work details: This is to facilitate the Tower Road CN Bridge Rehabilitation project, part of a long-term plan to improve safety and reliability by rehabilitating seven CN-owned bridges on the Halifax peninsula.
Traffic impact: The Tower Road CN bridge will be closed for all use, including drivers, cyclists and pedestrians, while this work is underway. A marked detour via the Young Avenue CN bridge will be in place while this work is underway. Drivers should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.
The municipality is working with CN, Halifax Water and other involved utilities to coordinate construction activities and minimize impacts where possible.
Transit impact: Halifax Transit route 29 will detour around this work. Five bus stops will be impacted during this closure to accommodate these changes. Updates will be posted on: halifax.ca/htdisruptions

Street Closure – Windsor Street
Location: Windsor Street, between Chebucto Road and Cunard Street
Date: Saturday, Jan. 31 to Sunday, Feb. 1
Time: 8 a.m. on Saturday to 5 p.m. on Sunday
Work details: This street closure is to facilitate the safe installation of power poles and lines for the new development at 2300 Windsor Street.
Traffic impact: A marked detour will be in place. Drivers should expect delays and use alternative routes where possible.

CAPE BRETON REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Campbell Brook Bridge, Sydney
The Campbell Brook Bridge on Keltic Drive is closed for replacement until July 31.
The detour is via Route 305 to Northwest Arm Road to Route 239 to Route 305. The bridge is closed 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

LUNENBURG COUNTY: Highway 103 Twinning, Hubbards to Chester
Highway 103 from two kilometres west of Exit 6 to four kilometres west of Exit 7 has temporary lane closures for blasting until May 2027.
As part of the same project, Trunk 3 from one kilometre west of the carpool parking lot at Exit 7 to 400 metres east of the lot has temporary lane closures for blasting until June 2026.
The work in both locations is planned for most weekdays at about 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. for about 10 minutes at a time. The eastbound and westbound lanes are both closed during the blasting. Traffic control is in place.There will not be blasting or lane closures on the following: - after noon on Fridays - holidays and days before holidays - weekends.
---PICTOU COUNTY: Moore’s Ford Bridge, River John
The Moore’s Ford Bridge on West Branch Road will be closed until further notice. The detour is via West Branch Road, College Grant Road and Route 256. ---PICTOU COUNTY: Welsford Bridge, River John
The Welsford Bridge on Old Pictou Road is closed until further notice. The detour is via Old Pictou Road, Allen Road, Trunk 6 and River John Road.
