All schools in the Halifax Regional Centre for Education are closed today, Tuesday, February 24, 2026 due to poor road conditions, and to allow for cleanup following the winter storm.
This decision was based on the following factors:
Heavy snowfall that turned to rain overnight, before a drop in temperature
Slippery conditions reported throughout the region
School grounds and side roads are still being cleared
