Traffic Delay – Massachusetts Avenue
Location: Massachusetts Avenue, between Robie Street and the MacKay Bridge
Date and time: 8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 26 to 5 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 27
Work details: This work will facilitate changes to overhead signage on Massachusetts Avenue to reflect the existing closure of the Massachusetts Avenue ramp toward the Windsor Street Exchange and Bedford Highway.
Traffic impact: Massachusetts Avenue will be reduced to a single outbound lane, with access to the MacKay Bridge maintained at all times.
This work will not impact inbound traffic flows on Massachusetts Avenue heading toward Robie Street.

Traffic Delay – Albemarle Street
Location: Albemarle Street, between Cogswell and Duke streets
Date: Tuesday, Feb. 24 to Thursday, Feb. 26
Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Work details: This street closure is to facilitate the safe delivery of a mobile crane for a development in the area.
Traffic impact: There will be no access to Albemarle Street from Duke Street while work is underway, access will be through Cogswell Street only. The sidewalk on the west side of Albemarle Street will remain open for pedestrians. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.

Traffic Delay – Intersection of Sackville Street and Dresden Row
Location: Intersection of Sackville Street and Dresden Row
Date: Monday, Feb. 23 to Friday, Feb. 27
Time: Work will take place during the day outside of peak hours, and overnight from 11 p.m. until 6 a.m.
Work details: This is to accommodate underground communications work in the area.
Traffic impact: Drivers should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.

Road Closure – Spring Garden Road
Location: Spring Garden Road, between South Park Street and Dresden Row
Date: Sunday, Feb. 22
Time: 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Work details: This is needed for the safe lifting of construction materials.
Traffic impact: Detours will be in place for vehicles. Drivers should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.
Pedestrian Impact: Sidewalks along the south side of Spring Garden Road will remain open during construction. Sidewalk users are asked to use alternative crosswalks to navigate around the project site.
Transit Impact: Halifax Transit routes 1, 8, 9A, 9B and 10+ will be detoured via Queen and Morris streets during this work. Passengers can use existing bus stops along the detour route.
Bus stop 8309 on South Park Street (after Morris Street) will not be serviced by route 10+ only, but continue to service other routes
Bus stops 8312 (South Park Street before Spring Garden Road) will be temporarily closed.
Bus stop 8313 (South Park Street before University Avenue) will not be serviced by route 10+, but continue to service other routes.
Bus stops 8334 (Spring Garden Road before South Park Street), 8330 (Spring Garden Road before Dresden Row) and 8336 (Spring Garden Road after Dresden Row) will be temporarily closed to all transit routes

Traffic Delay – Cherry Street
Location: Cherry Street, between Robie and Vernon streets
Date: Tuesday, Feb. 17 to Sunday, April 5
Time: 24/7
Work details: This work is related to the provincial QEII Halifax Infirmary Expansion project.
Traffic impact: The street will be accessible through Vernon Street. There will be no access from Robie Street. A marked detour will be in place around this work. Drivers should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.
Pedestrian impact: Sidewalks along the south side of Cherry Street will remain open during construction.

Street Closure – Cedar Street
Location: Cedar Street, between Robie and Henry streets
Date: Tuesday, Feb. 10 to Friday, March 27
Time: 24/7
Work details: This work is related to the provincial QEII Halifax Infirmary Expansion project.
Traffic impact: The street will be accessible to local traffic only through Henry and Vernon streets. There will be no access from Robie Street. Drivers should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.
Pedestrian Impact: Sidewalks along Cedar Street will remain open during construction.

Traffic Delay – Robie Street
Location: Robie Street, between Shirley Street and Jubilee Road
Date: Tuesday, Feb. 10 to Sunday, April 5
Time: 24/7
Work details: This work is related to the provincial QEII Halifax Infirmary Expansion project.
Traffic impact: The road will be closed to southbound traffic only, with detours and traffic control signs to guide drivers through the area. Northbound traffic will not be impacted. Drivers should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.
Pedestrian Impact: Sidewalks along the west side of Robie Street will remain open during construction.

Road Closure – Tower Road
Location: Tower Road CN bridge, between Southwood and Pine Hill drives
Date: Wednesday, Feb. 4 until December 2026
Time: 24-7
Work details: This is to facilitate the Tower Road CN Bridge Rehabilitation project, part of a long-term plan to improve safety and reliability by rehabilitating seven CN-owned bridges on the Halifax peninsula.
Traffic impact: The Tower Road CN bridge will be closed for all use, including drivers, cyclists and pedestrians, while this work is underway. A marked detour via the Young Avenue CN bridge will be in place while this work is underway. Drivers should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.
The municipality is working with CN, Halifax Water and other involved utilities to coordinate construction activities and minimize impacts where possible.
Transit impact: Halifax Transit route 29 will detour around this work. Five bus stops will be impacted during this closure to accommodate these changes. Updates will be posted on: halifax.ca/htdisruptions

Street Closure – Windsor Street
Location: Windsor Street, between Chebucto Road and Cunard Street
Date: Saturday, Jan. 31 to Sunday, Feb. 1
Time: 8 a.m. on Saturday to 5 p.m. on Sunday
Work details: This street closure is to facilitate the safe installation of power poles and lines for the new development at 2300 Windsor Street.
Traffic impact: A marked detour will be in place. Drivers should expect delays and use alternative routes where possible.
